Almost got in a fight with a Las Vegas Strip Hustler's GOON

On June 11th I was walking along the Las Vegas Strip taking pictures. When I came across a Las Vegas Strip Hustler (On the walkway over Flamingo Rd between Bellagio & Caesars).

He was playing a game, more commonly known as "The Shell Game". -- I brief description is he has 3 bottle caps, places a ball under 1 of them, moves them around, and has someone in the crowd bet certain amount they can pick what cap the ball is under. If they do, he pays them 1:1, if they lose, they pay him (He gets the money upfront). The "Hustler" always has "Goons" with him that appear to be tourist/observers of the game. They are used to make bets to make it look like they're winning (sometimes they lose on purpose also for show). They are also used to keep people like me away.....

As I come up to the hustle. I start to take a video for entertainment purposes to send back home. I had no plans of outing the guy at this point. One of the goons must have seen my phone out and asks the hustler "Can I take a picture" in which he replies "No pictures or video please". This is right about when I start to record. One of his goons walks up to "place a bet" and as he walks back, he walks up to me and says "The guy said no video" and I replied, "I'm not taking a video".....He then attempts to grab my phone out of my hand.....(Unfortunately my hand hits the "power" button on the side of my phone shutting down the video, so I don't get the aftermath on video)

At this point, I pull my hand/phone away and subsequently pushed the guy pretty hard to where he almost fell down. He came back up to me puffing out his chest and bumping chest with me. I tell him he is a fucking idiot and start to walk away. As I'm walking away he starts shouting at me (not exactly sure what was said) so I turn around. I keep a "safe" distance but stand there for about 10 minutes and keep repeating to new people that approach him. "He and the game is a scam, if you don't believe me, Youtube "The shell game" and you'll see it is a hustle).

Eventually after 10 minutes of me doing this, he packs up and tells the crowd, "One guy has to ruin the fun for everyone. I'm not going to take this abuse as this man (pointing towards me) is taking all the fun out of it.

Unfortunately my adrenaline was going pretty good and I didn't think to pull my phone out of my pocket and start recording anything past the guy trying to take the phone out of my hand, but here is what little video I got of it.

There is a difference between witnessing something like a drug deal, and witnessing something like this in a very busy touristy area.

I'm not an aggressive guy, but when someone puts their hands on me/my property in an aggressive manner. I will defend myself. I even tried walking away. It wasn't until after he continued to shout at me as I'm walking away that I decided to out the hustle.

In their eyes, recording them was perhaps the most aggressive action you could have taken.

Also by telling people what to look for on YouTube, they can see what to look for a potentially beat the hustler at his own game.

There's no way that guy makes enough to cover the probable fines for when he gets caught. If intimidation plays any role in his hustle to get people to play, fuck him. Ideally he would have a smooth pitch similar to Trump in his Trump U scam. Nobody's going to jail for that or any of his other countless scams so why should that guy.
