They made 1st place $12.1 million so this way it eclipses 2006's $12 million won by Jamie Gold.
This way they can say it's the biggest WSOP Main field AND top prize ever.
What are the reasons behind poker seemingly having another moment?

Problem is they clearly massaged the numbers.. This field significantly surpassed Gold's 2006 field and yet the top prize is basically almost identical to Gold's 1st place by a mere 100k by the time taxes are take out its essentially the same with 10M+ more in the prize pool (and proportionately more rake to Ceasers for fees and tokes). Youd think the top prize wouldve been at least reasonably larger maybe 12,5 or 13M. This was nothingburger hell not even a $1 guarantee for making the FT.. 9th pays 900k. This whole flattening the payouts push is literally damaging the prestige when it appears it just encourages people to be excited to min cash. Dont get me wrong $5000k for less then a weeks work at the tables isnt bad but taking into account the withholding I know folks who make more money in their regular jobs for less then 48hrs (4 days of ME play). I sometimes wonder if the flattening is a double edge sword sure more people cash but at the same time it seems like less of a big accomplishment if you manage to not lose your Buy In basically and make a small profit on top. The real winner clearly for the ME isnt the winner as much as it is Ceasers themselves.

those payouts remind me of 14 dollar hot dogs, 23 bucks for parking, and smokes for $18.50 at the Horseshoe

oh and the fact that those #%#€@! held a $600.00 charge on my VISA for 19 days after I cancelled my reservation
blatant robbery
Fuck Caesar's. Fucking scammers. I hope this year's WSOP champion is a bigger asshole than Jamie Gold.In 2019, the WSOP generated over $266 million in revenue, which is a significant amount of money. This revenue was generated through a variety of sources, including entry fees, sponsorships, and merchandise sales
Anyone guess correctly or win money or was this just a clickbait thing
Min cash should clearly be $20k….meh
On a side note, everyone absolutely went apeshit over the pay structure of the Main -- specifically giving $900k for 9th, when in 2021 it was $1m for 9th despite only 6680 entries.
This year they were also obsessed with these weird $2500 payjumps. Starting from the $15k mincash, everything went up by exactly $2500 over and over. I payjumped 7 times to get to $32,500, before succumbing in 568th place.
