Cliffs:
- 38-year-old Daniela Greene worked for the FBI as a translator and was assigned to investigate German rapper Dennis Cuspert, who had turned into an ISIS pitchman. He mostly made propaganda videos. Cuspert is perhaps best known for putting out a phony "US soldiers rape Muslim women" video which inspired a revenge terror attack.
- At some point, Greene fell in love with Cuspert, and moved to Syria to marry him. This was despite the fact that she had a husband in the US. This occurred in June 2014. Somehow she was able to get into an ISIS-controlled area as an American without difficulty, likely because she was accompanied by Cuspert. Apparently she also told Cuspert he was being investigated.
- While it's unclear how this occurred, Greene escaped Syria two months later in August 2014, after having second thoughts about what she had done. She returned to the US to face the music.
- Due to her "cooperation" immediately upon her return to the US, they sealed her court records and gave her a surprisingly light 2-year sentence.
- She now works as a hostess at a hotel (lol).
