Renting a Car in Las Vegas

I will be getting into Las Vegas this weekend and I was wondering what a cheap way to rent a car would be. I like having my own car and it probably ends up being cheaper for me in the end. Should I get a car at the airport? Anyway to get a discount online? Thanks.

I rent every time that I go to Vegas. The airport has a shuttle that takes you to the rental center. It's like a food court for rental cars. You can shop around on-line but avoid places like Budget. I've used Alamo the last few times. Self-serve kiosks for check-in and a good fleet of cars.

Priceline NYOP - Saves a lot of money, but you won't be able to pick the company.

I've used 2 different companies... Alamo and Budget. Alamo was 4.5/5 (would have used again but all their prices were double budget). Budget was 3.5/5. I declined all add ons and just paid the base price. I think for 4 days it was around $100 at both places for a full size. Find some online codes

I am a total noob when it comes to online codes. I find sites but you either have to sign up or the code is expired. Is there is a website dedicated to this sort of thing?

Actually if you sign up for Alamo rewards program (free) you get like 20% off right out the gate.

Ya , hit the shuttle and hit up whomever. Decline the insurance, bring your GPS from home as well cause they will soak you on both

That said I think I have used Enterprise every time and it was like 30 bucks a day.

Certainly +ev for hitting stores, eateries and diff casinos.

Will try alamo 20 % deal this week. Thanks for the tip

    Including taxes?

I was just on priceline and they are saying 12 or 13 per day would most likely be accepted for economy. But then they hit you with the taxes which boosts it to ver 20 per day

I rented from Alamo in April for 4 days $69.35 all fees included.
I've also rented from National, Budget, & Thrifty in Vegas. Whoever is the cheapest.
Give your exact dates & times & I'll see what I can do.
Also it's been noted about the kiosks onsite. They are the way to go with Alamo & National but you have to sign-up which isn't a big deal & is free. I have every discount code from Alamo & National for the last 3 years in a email folder & also use www.flyertalk.com for others.

Here's the actual page on flyertalk. There's a lot to go through. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/car-r...-partners-392/

    I can get a midsize for 3 days(Friday noon until Monday noon)for Alamo: $64.04 Total & National $59.01 Total.
That's without really looking too hard.
