    Best poker scene ever! <----------------

I just realized after watching this movie for the 5th time, the best poker scene ever is right here. It's at the end, it gets tense in the stare off but its the best. You need to watch this, especially you Vegas1369 for obvious reasons. It's only a couple minutes.

I have about had it with this POS place. I carried this mutherfucker through the dark years. The Transition between Donkdown/Tyde/Venom and now this, PFA.

I can't keep carrying the fucking water here. This fucking post was meant to be epic, 3,000 views. Did anyone even take the time to even view it? You fucking people.

These trolls, they are ants. Not the good ones the biters that leave welts. I tried to mentor people here, nobody listens.

FUCK OFF. See you next year, minimum.

I elected not to leave the forum. I don't want to hurt PFA traffic and Druff by leaving. That is just being petty and selfish.

My point of the thread is to watch the clip. It's a great poker scene and this is a poker forum. Understand? That was the point of the thread. Maybe we can all actually talk for once about some poker, maybe some dicey situations at the poker table we all had like in that clip I just posted.

Ok, so I will got first. I was in Louisiana back in the day. I was in a private game I never should have been in. It was $1,000 buy in, not my scene. I was in Shreveport and could not get a game going at the casino. I was approached by a random mark about a private game, and I decided to go. The game was in a strip center, a front for some business that did not exist. Desks up front, a rogue poker room in the back.

Anyway, I got blind drunk off beer and shots. The game was tense, it lasted until 6am and it was me and three others. Keep in mind they had three tables going when I arrived. I had Q-10 on the button. After a series of raises the flop came and it was 2 Queens, on the river it was the nuts and I pushed in. Next thing you know there is $8K in the pot.

Not my turf and everyone was looking at me, I was scared shitless when I said I need to cash. There was a hotel across the street, a Red Roof Inn. I told the crew I will be back and needed to sleep it off. They asked, directly, when I would be back. I said guys: "I am across the street in this Red Roof Inn and my SUV is parked in YOUR parking lot, I am not going anywhere, I have been here for 11 hours if I wanted to hit and run I would have left at 2am when I was up $2K. Besides I am moving here next month why the fuck do you think I am here (this was a fucking lie, I just needed to get the fuck out)."

Bottom line is they bought it hook line and sinker. About 2pm same day I walked over acting like I was talking on my phone and hopped in my Navigator and got the fuck out. Thankfully I had a full tank of gas. I did not stop looking in my rear view mirror until I made it back to Texas. When I got to the bank the teller was like WTF, I had huge stacks of 20s and 100s. True story I later got her number and we met for drinks, never amounted to anything though.

First, it was a good clip from a movie I would ordinarily never otherwise consider watching. The clip was unique in that it never showed the cards.

Billions (written by the Rounders guys) has not learned the poker in 2017 lesson. Billions jumped the shark for me with Helmuth and some scene where the show's writers force me two watch some missed draw like I give two fucks in 2017 about how people play poker hands as entertainment

The Comanche line was god and Poker was just a setting for conflict. Get it?

Second, poker is just a metaphor or trope on the PFA Forum. A group of middle aged men who have already reckoned with opportunity cost and share a common connection to the past.

We discuss issues that by and large have nothing to do with poker. The longest threads (most interest) have no poker content.

Sure the radio show is inhabited by 1200 holdouts - like the WWII Japanese holdouts who didn't know the war ended. Those with insight appreciate poker is just a jumping off point (Drexel) for entertainment

It's nostalgia baby and when it comes to poker we're only seeking closure for the old sites, broke players and past fraud. Lighten up with the poker so we may keep our hard won peace.

Beautifully written. You are an obvious beacon of common sense and insight.

However, you've just given the mouth-breathing, sophistic, self-important assholes who cling on to this site for dear life FAR more credit than is appropriate. I felt like I just read an Ernest Hemingway film review of "Biodome."
