Trump admin orders resignation of remaining Obama-era US attorneys, including Preet Bharara

All 46 US prosecutors leftover from the Obama administration have been ordered to resign, including Preet Bharara of Manhattan, who was asked in November by then President-elect Donald Trump about staying on the job.
The request was formally delivered by Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Friday, who called the process a "uniform transition."

Preet Bharara was known for being the lead prosecutor for most cases involving various poker and gambling personalities, including against sports bettor Billy Walters, the huge Russian sports betting ring that nabbed many poker pros, and of course was one of the forces behind the Black Friday prosecutions.

He is rumored to potentially run for mayor of NYC or Governor of NY next.

This is actually a non-story. Almost all US attorneys are replaced when a new administration comes in. It is the abruptness that is unusual. It is a bad decision by Trump because it hinders an orderly transition. Just another example of the president's complete lack of knowledge on how the government operates and a glaring example of his inability to effectively govern.
