    Fun Hand Histories

I e-mailed this hand history to somebody who I share HHs with. I took out the guy's name to respect his privacy. Some background, the "big fish" is a wealthy guy (makes about $5m/yr) but only shows up every once in a while. But when he shows up he is everybody's favorite. He usually plays 5/10 or 10/25, but sometimes he'll stay at 2/5 because his friend wants to play there, and he's just there to have fun anyway. As soon as I saw he wasn't going to join our 5/10 game I snap got on that tables 2/5 list and several of the other 5/10 players did the same.

This hand has not been embellished for dramatic effect and happened today (well, I guess yesterday now). 2/5 game, [Fish's name redacted] is UTG+1 and raises to $20 (and has around 1300 to start the hand, I have him covered), but I noticed he hadn't looked at his cards yet. Nobody else at the table noticed this. Folds to me in the cutoff and I make it 75 with A7o. [Big fish] calls and we're heads up, $150 in the pot. Flop comes AJ6 rainbow. [Big fish] checks, and I check behind. It's kind of a bad check behind on my part because he'll call with a lot of weird stuff, but I've gotten in the habit of checking behind in these type of spots for future value/pot control. Anyway turn is a brick that brings a 2nd club. I bet 200. [Big fish] turns over QThh and it looked like he was just going to muck his hand. In my head I'm thinking 'fml I should've just fired the flop. He would've called because he has a backdoor flush draw to go with it'. Out loud I say "You have a straight draw, sir". [Big fish] says "Yeah, no shit". He tanks for a long time as he often likes to do, and then says "God hates a fucking coward" and calls. Whole table calls for a red King, lol. River is a Queen. He says "I gotta bet this" and bets $300 (and he has a bit under 700 behind). Keep in mind his cards are still face up, lol. I tank for a while. I thought about min raising, but shoving looks a lot more bluffy. I say "What are you going to do if I shove, you probably have to fold, right?" He says "We'll find out". I shove, and he snap calls and I TID with my Ace.

Anyhow, the big fish ended up losing $7k at 2/5 on the day. Fun times.
