Hard to believe but this logic is why so many chicks have eating disorders these days.. Marilyn Monroe was considered a sex goddess in her day.. So yeah poor choices either way can fuck you up no doubt but being underweight can be just as detrimental as being fat. Go google Karen Carpenter if you need any more proof.. I think most SI swimsuit models, even recently, have been around 20% BF. I agree the couture models have always been too skinny and not attractive to straight males, but most of the men that are into that world are gay anyways, so that is intentional. For good or bad, straight men have been selected to be most attracted to young (under 25 yr old) women in the 20% BF range, cause that is where fertility is the highest. It has been that way for the last 100,000 years. All the nonsense about how men used to be attracted to real fat women and/or super skinny women is just that, nonsense.

As a guy who likes bigger (but not huge) women, even I don't love the recent trend of "fat acceptance".

There are a few problems with this movement, which is unfortunately tied to third wave feminism.

First off, it has a thought police aspect to it. I find bigger women attractive, but I understand that many guys don't. I feel that the fat acceptance movement is trying too hard to force it down everyone's through that "any size is beautiful", and is basically telling the men who prefer slimmer women that they're committing a terrible sin by not being attracted to bigger women.

Second, it's replacing one unhealthy message with another. It's gone from, "Stave yourself or you're ugly" to "Get as fat as you want, and everyone will love you." Neither attitude is healthy for your body, nor is either message what should be projected to impressionable young girls.

Third, there's a lot of hypocrisy. Look at "plus size model" pictures and videos featuring a male companion. The guy is always fit/thin. You never see them depicting these chicks with overweight men. Why? It's because the fat acceptance movement is supposed to be empowering to women only, so it's basically telling overweight/obese chicks that they are beautiful to the point of being above overweight men. Therefore, they should reject these men and go for the fit guys they always wanted.

If you're going to glorify overweight women from a moral standpoint, you have to do the same thing for overweight men, or you're being a huge hypocrite.

I'm not talking about individual tastes. If a fat chick only wants to date skinny guys, that's totally fine, as everyone has their own types and standards as to whom they date. I just hate watching the media shove fat acceptance down our throats while acting as the hypocritical thought police.
