How on earth can you have any sort of emotional connection with your team if they can just be packed up and dragged to another part of the country?

NFL is a minority sport in the UK. But this story is getting some attention here. People are sickened by it. I would die for my team, they're the most important thing in my life. A couple million others likely feel the same.

The lack of outrage ITT proves that you fuckers have no clue what it's like to truly love the badge that your team wears.

There's a reason American sport isn't taken seriously outside of the US. And this is a prime example.

    Franchise my hairy fucking hoop.

This is a particularly poorly run franchise headed for decades by a now deceased insane man and presently by an heir that looks like this

They've been moved before, it's California, and they're pretty insane about their basketball team presently.

There are 10-12 franchises in the NFL where if you attempted to move them the city would burn.

But generally the passion you associate with your football teams is reserved for college sports here. All kinds of rivalries and geographic hatred of other conferences.

Like, if I had Trump's nuclear football, Ann Arbor would be more concerned than Pyongyang that I was in possession because every November there'd be a decent chance I'd launch. There's no pro sports rival that I feel that about. They all go out after the games drinking while the fans fight. Rare is the player even from the area or have any connection to the team beyond money.

Your youth academies for clubs probably create more of a bond, but your teams seem to be heading in our direction more than staying pure. It was such a stark contrast to see West Ham move from Boleyn Ground, where just the previous season United couldn't even get their bus into the parking lot because of the drunken vitriol to this season playing in that horrible antiseptic Olympic Stadium where they had no real home field advantage. I'm already not looking forward to seeing Tottenham in Wembley next year while completing the new White Hart Lane(sure to be named after some Arab airline or oil company)

Agree it doesn't win you games but it definitely gives you a slight edge, however if this is one of the quieter stadiums they'll make up for it in overall distractions. Lots of teams head to Hawaii in games they should win but because of all the distractions and long travel end up in a tough game/losing. I could see this happening to road teams visiting LV, gambling, strip clubs, prostitution, unlimited drugs. But probably this will end up being a huge problem for the Raiders, like can we set a line on arrests for the first year in LV for raiders players at ~5?

Isn't 5 the average number for any team in any city?

I'd say closer to 8-10 if you include coaches/staff/all players and DUIs/minor offenses.

They will be in Oakland until the new stadium is built.

Moving the team from one of the wealthiest metropolitan areas in the US for the desert, what could go wrong?
Holy fuck are you stupid?? Oakland is a shithole compared to San Jose and San Fran.. That's like comparing Beverly Hills to East LA.. Seriously???? Oh and even more asinine is the assumption theres no money in Vegas.. Oh so those fucking multibillion dollar casinos just grew out of the sand on their own?? Holy Shit you're a clueless fuck..

Can you imagine the hooligans in that shithole stadium during Raiders final games?

The funny part is that they'll be tearing up the A's stadium. The Raiders won't give a shit.

I just put down my $100 deposit on Raiders tickets for 2019.

That guys life story is gold, he literally owned and uses a white caravan, no joke, nothing fancy while living in a oddly cheap house and registering odd/adult domain names.

    Think I am joking....

Has the author watched a football game in the past 2 years? The Raiders were one of the top 3 teams in the league until their QB got hurt. Over the next 10 years, the two most promising teams in the league are the Raider and Cowboys- who are never ever moving.

i agree about the Raiders, however, the stats about the stadium deal are kinda fucked and non standard.
