tuned in right as druff talked about AC so ill give my two cents since I worked for the 'evil empire' down there for 3 years...

will somebody buy the taj? absolutely...should they? fuck no...gonna guess the price will get to the point where somebody with a big ego will think they are getting a good deal and can turn a profit on it...most likely they cant...druff was right on the ball with the taj needing major renovations...went to that place in the early 2000s (it was a nice place back then) and recently went back in 2015 and that place had changed dramatically for the worst...im sure to make it nice again would easily cost mid 8 figures to 9 figures...never gonna get a return on that money...ever...

I get why the guy who bought the revel for $90-100MM (or whatever it was) bought it...he's a real estate guy getting a $2B property for 5% of the construction cost...of course he's gonna jump on it...but that property is doomed to fail as a casino as presently set up...and the funny thing is is that the city/state are making him dance like a circus monkey to open the damn thing up...I don't follow the shithole (AC) much any more since I left, but don't even know if the property is actually open and he was supposed to have it open in time for summer 2016...

I laughed when some poor schmuck poured millions into the pier attached to caesars in AC to turn it into "the playground"...maybe I'm wrong, but don't see investing money in something that is viable for literally only 3 months a year (june/july/august)...AC is shit every other month of the year...

druff is right about the AC market declining as well (no shit, obv)...if you go back to 2006 (the peak) gaming revenues for the city declined for 9 straight years at an average of 6-8% per year (or something in that ballpark) and are down in excess of 50% since the peak in '06...I THINK the city might actually turn a YOY increase in gaming revenues (taj excluded), no thanks to the 'evil empire'...harrah's and caesars have shown very healthy declines in gaming revenues YOY while ballys is barely above water, if at all, YOY...and the only reason they are is because they added gaming space in july 2015 so they have 6 months of new gaming space that wasn't accounted for from jan-jun 2015 that is now included in the 2016 numbers...

if an MGM national harbor type casino were to open up in NYC put the nail in the coffin of AC, it's over...AC is lucky the unions were able to pull some voodoo to keep gaming outta the meadowlands on the 2016 ballot...they've already lost the philly market and have lost a decent chunk of the NYC market to the raceinos and sands Bethlehem...ive been to parx and valley forge (both like 30 minutes from center city philly) and both properties are nice for what they are...local gambling spots...parx is nicer because it's bigger and has more amenities...have yet to step into sugarhouse but from what I've seen via press clippings and the like they have done a good job investing and making their property nice for what it is...local gaming...also was able to tour the 'evil empire' property in philly a bunch...LOL, what a shithole...typical 'evil empire' failure there...good job in buying a property where your front yard is 100 yards from a fucking prison...and for those of you not on the east coast, no I'm not joking...the fucking casino looks out onto a fucking prison...very welcoming sight and you have to drive through the hood of chester, pa to get to it...

one more thing druff touched on...the marketing of the 'evil empire'...yeah its a fucking joke...the CMO hightailed it the fuck outta there right after I left and I think he went to google...im willing to bet a shitton he left because he couldn't stand being fucking killed by a thousand cuts...stunned to see they actually haven't tried to fuck over the seven stars program for '17, but guess they figure that's their only means of survival is if they keep the big players happy...

Druff - I know that i'm a young'un and definitely more exposed to this stuff than you are, but I think you misunderstand the definition of gender and how it differs to sex. I think if you brushed up on these terms you'd be much more willing to accept that there are many people who can fall outside of binary concept of gender (what is 'masculine' and what is 'feminine'). The discussion about sexes is more clear and 100% scientific, but the argument about gender is much more broad. It's about constructs of society and not which gonads you have.

Here's the thing - i'm very very left wing (Americans would call me 'liberal' but i'm definitely not liberal in the traditional sense as liberals are capitalists) but I enjoy exposing myself to other views. This forum acts as an anti-echochamber for me, in stark contrast to my facebook feed which is just other left-wing students. I would be very interested in talking to people on this forum about subject matters like this but only if people would be happy to engage in a polite and informed manner. That said, the chance of that is close to zero LOL
