Long time no talk.
I'm moving to the socal area and am working in Cerritos. Anyone have any good suggestions as to where to live? I've heard Long beach (east side), Huntington / Seal Beach, Anaheim, etc.
Thanks for the help dudes.

I highly recommend Compton, very nice people.
Cerritos is kind of a nightmare location wise because of traffic. There aren't any really desirable places to live within 30 minutes except for possibly north Orange County. Anaheim near the stadium has some good looking condos and rentals, Seal Beach is also a decent option. Long Beach is going to a 40-60 minute commute but has a good nightlife scene.
Jaaaaaakke!!! Good to see you, congrats on the move.
thanks dude. ill be making a pit stop along vegas, so anyone in the area (or socal) we could meet up for some drinks
and i dont think long beach commute to cerritos is 40-60 mins? when i was out there it was like 15 minutes....but maybe it was during non rush hour time, idk

repo.....WHAT THE FUCK? Eagles +6.5 is horrendous. Cowboys -6.5 and the UNDER. Both teams matchup insanely well, and is going to be a low scoring game.

YES CERRITOS!!!!
Actually I know a lot about that area.
Cerritos itself is nice, and fairly close to Commerce and the Bike if you want to play there.
However, it is surrounded by a lot of terrible neighborhoods, including gang-infested Norwalk.
It's like an island of suburbia within the ghetto.
Sadly everything else in that general area (known as "the 562" because of the area code) is pretty lousy.
If you want to try Long Beach, if you stay to the very east or downtown, you can find some nice parts. Yes, you read that right. Unlike most places, the eastside and downtown are the NICE parts, and everything else is ghetto.
Definitely take a drive around the neighborhood before renting anything.
You also might want to try La Palma, which is the next city over to the east, and is part of Orange County. That's a decent middle-class neighborhood, though it's small and is mostly single-family houses.
Oh, and Anaheim is a bit far, and the traffic is brutal.
You might want to also look at Fullerton. A number of people who work in Cerritos live there.
+1 to Druff for representing La Palma where I grew up and lived for 22 years. Cerritos is nice around Towne Center but there are so sketchy neighborhoods surrounding it. Do not bother looking at Buena Park as it has gone to shit. I would recommend Cypress and Los Alamitos. Oh and make sure to hit up the Hawaiian Gardens Casino
Believe it or not, I've had three different girlfriends over the years from right in that area. One was from Cerritos, one was from La Palma, and one was from Buena Park. These were all in the 1990s. I also was having a 1-night-stand in Cypress during the night of the 1994 Northridge earthquake, and it literally occurred while we were having sex.
So yes, I spent way too much time driving down the 91.
That's funny. There was a fatal 1 car crash from a drunk driver that ran into a power pole around 2 a.m. that night that knocked out power to a widespread area. Power was restored 10 minutes before the earthquake only to be knocked back out until 7 a.m. that morning. I guess that didn't affect Cypress.
hahahaha china, that was pretty embarassing i posted that a long time ago, definitely funnny you dug that up.
thanks for the advice everyone, i think i found a few places in belmont shore so that should be fun, and im definitely going to hit up the commerce/bike while im out there
jaaaaakke, good to see you brother. Good luck on the move.
cerritos is actually a pretty nice place to live nowadays, traditional middle class city. last i heard the city doesn't allow apartments to keep the middle class atmosphere. also the most diverse town in the continental US supposedly.
anaheim and santa ana are pretty ghetto, but cheaper rent. fullerton would be my pick since you can access cerritos locally (without the fwy traffic) and it's also like a koreatown #2. long beach to fullerton could be 15 mins to 1hr+ just depends on road conditions
come to think of it i haven't been to that area in like a year, seems like yesterday when i drove by that area almost daily.
rofl lolomon in the house yall
