The course obv willl be set up to break the lesser players, but length wise this might be the shortest major venue you will ever see at 7170 yards. That is like pitch and putt by today's standards, and will give a big advantage to longer hitter who will just pull out the long iron/3 wood and pipe it down the middle to avoid the brutal rough.

Look for the epic pairing of Tiger Woods, Bubba Watson, and Phil Mickelson on Thursday and Friday. They tee off at 10:33am EST on number 9 Thursday, and 1:18pm off number 1 Friday.

Are we doing the contest? $10/person, pick 5 golfers with lowest cumulative score. Ive got the spreadsheet on lockdown, TheTemplar will escrow (I presume).
It's hilarious that we as a society think everyone can be a dr, a lawyer, an engineer. Some people are just fucking stupid. Why can't we just accept that?

I think the relatively shorter course brings more players into it. It's a tournament the straight shooters do well in. On in two, two putt is gold

Gonna be playing hard and fast, there is a 0% chance of rain every day through Sunday.

    http://www.weather.com/weather/tenda...+USCA0987:1:US

    That shit cray.

They are probably watering the rough, gonna be set up exactly like and old school open course. Death if you can't hit the rock hard fairways and greens, but not too long to make it unplayable/unfair.

Bubba Watson just said +5 is going to have a good chance to win with how hard the course is playing.

Said it is going to be just like Oakmont.

He is already semi complaining, mainly about 13 and 14 and the near 700 yd par 5 that has the longest rough on the course. He said some guys will not be able to get there in 3 shots if they get in the rough off the tee. On 13 and 14 he said you can hit the greens but still end up in the hazard because they shaved the banks down from rough to fairway. He took a subtle shot at those changes, and said he doesn't even know how to play the hole.

This is going to be fun for viewers, and brutal for the players. They are going to be complaining big time listening to how Bubba is talking....already.

Just wanted to say if I could stab Chris Berman in the throat right now I would be doing the US Open viewing audience (and the rest of the sporting world) a huge favor.

    That is all.

He should be a sports center highlights guy period. He's like a bull in a china shop. This is the U.S. Open and they get a hacker to call it? He keeps bringing up the fucking 49er's. In fact it may be the worst group of announcers as a group. Roger Maltby, Andy freakin North and Curtis Strange, "is that a five iron or a fav iron"
    Go Beau

Agreed. At least he won't be a part of the weekend coverage on NBC.

Well Tiger played like shit and shot himself right out of the tourney.

The 17 year old is sooooo impressive (and his mom is a smoking hot MILF!). I gonna go out on a limb and say he never makes it to college, really no point with how good he is.

I have now shifted my rooting interest from Tiger to a financial gain driven mindset.

I need the top 3 (Furyk,McDowell,Jacobson) and Els to tank it, and have either Westwood (+1200), Adams, Colsaerts, or Peterson (+1000) win it.

Also longer shots still in the running with Dufner and Kucher(+2500).

Furyk looks like he is poised to take it down, just rock solid.

How many times have the announcers said ther is only one fairway bunker on the Olympic course? I guess the two on the first hole don't count for some reason.
