I never bet on horse races. But since I'll Have Another has a chance at the triple crown and he is from Vancouver BC, 30 mins from me I bet 1K on him 2 days ago at William Hill online at even money.

Today he was scratched due to injury. I checked my account expecting the 1K to be returned but it showed up as a loss. I called them and they said it was an anti-post bet, meaning special conditions apply because the bet was not made the day of the race. 1K down the drain.

But I also threw $100 on Union Rags at 7/1 at the same time. Well now that the favorite I'll Have Another is out Union Rags odds are 5/2. So if he wins I will get some of my money back.

Man, that sucks, but it is the rule on almost all sportsbooks on an ante-post bet, which is fixed odds rather than betting W/P/S or exotic. You won't make that mistake again, but for 1k, that's a rough lesson. Here's to Union Rags recouping some money for you, I'll be pulling for him.
