well, actually for most middle income families, 2 years of free college education is already here, thanks to our junior college system and the American Opportunties Tax Credit" the credit reimburses all of the price of tuition and books at a junior college...

and don't dismiss the value of JC's....indeed, in California, if you make the dean's list at a jc, you can pretty much guarantee yourself a place in at least one of the University of California campuses (UCLA, Berkley, Irvine, Davis, Merced etc) which are the apex of the public university in this state...get only passing marks, and you will get admittance to a State University (Long Beach, San Deigo, San Francisco, San Jose, etc)...both UC & State Univ are good, relatively cheap places to get the final two years of bachelor's degree
