Here is my fake electric bill. Now that I look at it again, I probably could have done a better job, but they bought it.
Look how Canadian I was 10 years ago. October 7, 2006 and I'm paying that Hydro Quebec electric bill of $40. I realize that it's a bit low, but September is so nice in Quebec that I didn't have to run any heat or A/C... and I spent every night by candlelight as a show of support for the Quebecois breaking away from the clutches of oppressive Mother Canada.
Also I sent them a phony rental agreement which was pretty convincing looking.
The address was a mail drop service which forwarded all mail to any address I chose.
At the time, a google of the address didn't come back as a mail drop, but it did later.
Eventually I determined that the sites weren't that good anymore without the US donks, so I dropped the whole ruse.
I also went to a live poker tournament in November 2006 and had to maintain the ruse so it wouldn't get back to the online poker site (which was sponsoring that tournament). So I was listed as a Canadian and had to tell everyone I lived in Laval. Fortunately nearly everyone at this tournament was from Europe, so nobody knew what the hell I was talking about, and didn't question it.
Fun times.
