Doubt she has any problems in prison. Money doesn't just buy you a better defense and white collar criminals in general spend their time in minimum security prisons.

Fraud isn't something anyone cares about and her worst case scenario is just paying for protection.

The above doesn't apply to Ghislaine Maxwell though. Different crime. I don't think i've heard anyone getting protection with paperwork related to kids. Extorted for sure, but not exactly walking out untouched.

To Ellen Pao, the former CEO of Reddit, who is a vocal critic of gender discrimination in tech, sexism is partially to blame.

"When you see which CEOs get to continue to wreak havoc on consumers and the market, it's people who look like the venture capitalists, who are mostly white men," Pao said.

    She points to Adam Neumann, who drove WeWork into the ground;

    Hahaha I think she's right
    Sharp eye Ellen,
    You nailed it girl.
Well, also good for business for Pao:

Ellen Kangru Pao (born 1970) is an American investor and former CEO of social media company Reddit.[1][2][3]

Pao first became known in 2012 for filing an unsuccessful gender discrimination suit against her employer, venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins, and has continued to express vocal criticism of the hiring and promotion practices in Silicon Valley.[4][5][6]

In 2014, she became interim CEO of Reddit.[7] During this period, the site banned revenge porn, with other social media sites following suit. In 2015, decisions made by the company during her tenure, such as the banning of controversial Reddit communities for harassment, generated a wave of controversy that culminated in her stepping down. The backlash she received sparked debates both on the treatment of women in technology and the need for transparency in a company that relies on volunteers.[8][9][10]

Since 2016, she has been the co-founder and CEO of the non-profit diversity consulting organization Project Include

Now that the prosecution of Elizabeth Holmes is almost over. The U.S. government can focus on going after Mark Zuckerberg. There is no such thing as a "metaverse". They need to charge Zuckerberg with fraud put him in prison.

Your security level is largely tied to the amount of time you have, not entirely but it's a big part of it. If she gets hit hard she won't be in any minimum level or camp. 10 yrs plus she starts in medium.

She'll wind up in some Club Fed prison and with her deep voice she'll have more wives than you can shake a stick at.

It kind of appeared to me that Balwani was a cold-blooded scammer and manipulator, whereas Holmes was a delusional weirdo who kinda drank her own Kool-Aid, and then did all she could to prevent her empire from falling apart.

Well, apparently Holmes is trying that tactic, as well. She is claiming that she had a romantic relationship with Balwani, where he manipulated, controlled, and threatened her. Basically she's saying that most of this was his fault, and she was threatened/intmidated to go along with it.

The documents pertaining to this were recently unsealed, having to do with a court motion to separate the two defendants currently facing criminal charges.

Pretty good read but I think she's an innocent victim on many levels, she was victimized first by her scumbag bf, then by the people who thru her under the bus incl the feds and especially by the media.
How dare them put out all those hit pieces on her before her trial and I bet anything they knew her BF was calling the shots but that doesn't fit in with their politically correct narraritive.

Texts between Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes and ex-COO Sunny Balwani show their dynamic in a new light

While Sunny Balwani’s legal team maintains that he was simply an investor in Theranos, newly revealed text messages cast his involvement with the infamous startup in a new light.

During Balwani’s trial, a collection of private text messages were shown to jurors to help them gain insight into the nature of Balwani’s romantic relationship with Elizabeth Holmes and their business partnership.

“I am responsible for everything at Theranos,” Balwani wrote in one text exchange to Holmes, as reported by NBC.

“I worked six years day and night to help you…sad about where we are,” Balwani also texted Holmes, emphasizing his dedication to his work at Theranos, according to NBC.

The relationship between Holmes—Theranos’ founder—and her ex-boyfriend Balwani—its former president and chief operating officer—is a talking point the lawyers have brought up repeatedly in both fraud cases.

In the public eye, Holmes was in charge of Theranos, and in 2017, she even told the SEC that she was “the ultimate decision-maker” for the company. The former startup CEO was touted as the youngest self-made billionaire in 2015. Beyond being the face of the company, Holmes also represented Theranos at prestigious conferences like President Bill Clinton’s CGI (Clinton Global Initiative) meeting in 2015, a 2014 TEDMED Talk, and the Wall Street Journal’s WSJD Live 2015.

While Balwani’s image wasn’t known to the public, his private influence was present in all areas of the company, according to the newly revealed text exchanges in which he admits to wielding a lot of power and takes responsibility for Theranos. This new information undermines the position of his legal defense, which maintains that he wasn’t in charge of the company.

Balwani is currently on trial for his role in the company’s defrauding investors out of hundreds of millions of dollars. He is charged with 10 counts of wire fraud and two counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. He has pleaded not guilty to all 12 counts.

Holmes has previously labeled Balwani as verbally and sexually abusive and even claimed that Balwani controlled what she ate and berated her, likening her leadership skills to a “monkey trying to fly a spaceship.”

So everything she was saying was motivated to impress him and to not get yelled at and abused, NOT GUILTY!

Where was this info during her trial.

Is there a good doc/docuseries on this?

Nothing I've seen advertised looks particularly good. Mainly familiar with this case from this thread.

There’s a show called “dropout” on Hulu that recently came out which has a good cast. I haven’t watched it and it’s not a documentary so don’t know if it’s any good or not.

There also was a documentary on HBO about Theranos I watched on a plane that was not memorable. I know I watched it and can’t remember anything about it.

Finally sentenced. Hope she doesn’t want to have kids. She’s gonna lose a chunk of her child bearing years. 11yrs in Federal prison meaning she will be almost 50 when she gets out. She’s 38 now.

Update wasn’t aware but apparently she had one and now she’s currently pregnant again. Guess she’s gonna have a prison baby.

Oh yeah I remember hearing she was pregnant. Actually, getting out in her late 40s guarantees no more pregnancies. Believe it or not, some women are mostly infertile by 38 anyway, and if not, it tends to happen in the following few years. One of the biggest myths is that women can usually have children up until menopause. In reality, very few can do it after 43, and many are unable to carry a baby to term (with her own eggs) after 40. This is due to a huge decline in egg quality.

Anyway you don't get much time off federal sentences, so she's going to be away for awhile. I think she's a sociopath and doesn't fully realize what she's done wrong.

She can get off in 5 years for good behavior. As others have stated she has one kid already and pregnant with second. It is a lock that even after paying all the fines her and her husband have a lot of money. In a few years she will be living a very privileged life and it will have all been worth it.

yes and no. it will have been worth it. almost all crime of this type magnitude is. she will have to do 85% of her federal time, however. imagine her audacity at intentionally getting pregnant knowing she was facing this and believing it would help her stay out of jail. now she has to have the kid and then give it back, lol.

the real criminal enterprise is just taking shape with all of the fraudulent SBA loans that were helicoptered during Covid many of which are 1.5m now with little to no oversight. i tried. didn't work. bought some sports cars, took a gamble in the market, some nice holidays, oh well, business didn't shape out like i hoped. See ya.

What's so noticeable to me is how they're form affluent well educated families

didn't come from struggle at all and in some peoples mind now would say they turned into pretty bad or ugly people. And wouldn't doubt some of that exists in this world too of course, where i grew up the more wealthy were a bit more mean, arrogant which is probably normal. These scammer conners, Felons now in Prison come from a very good upbringing which stand out to me, to end up in all of this.

Yeah I had to to do some research on the topic before and once a chick hits 40 it's pretty much over pregnancy wise.

She got 11yrs, 85% of that is 9yrs 4 months. She can take a program to get another year off. So she will be in there for over 8 years.

Luckily for her she is just under the number for her to get sent to a real level of prison she has to worry about. With only 8 (and her non violent chares) she will go to a camp, easy peazy.

Where do you come up with her getting out in 5 years?

I dont know what the exact numbers are, but getting your federal prison time cut by over 50% doesnt sound possible. I think in federal the max cut is like 15% off
