Ho Chunk Casino in wisconsin dells cancels MSPT Main Event 24 hours before it was supposed to start

So The midstates Poker tour had a planned main event at Ho Chunk casino and was abruptly cancelled 24 hours before it was supposed to begin. I had played in 4 satellites to the main event rainging from 65 to 250. I paid a total of 105 dollars in rake for these satellites. I won one 1100 dollar seat. They have been running satellites for the last month and a half for this main event. I can turn in my 1100 dollar ticket for cash at the window for 1100 cash. I would have to drive 45 minutes to do so. I had a hotel room booked for all weekend which they refused to let me cancel and was already paid for. They will not refund me this money. With all the weekly tournaments turned into satellites for the past month I bet they collected close to 10k in rake for this main event seats.

They will not answer what the plan is to do for rake and they have supposedly known for the last three weeks that the mspt did not have the proper gaming commission licence as I guess the ho chunk tribe just changed who they deal with. Yet they continued to run satellites. I am refusing to return to the room unless I am refunded the rake that I paid for those satellites.

I have been offered one buffet comp for my troubles in this whole situation.

You need to file with your CC company to dispute the hotel charge for the room (assuming you had the brains enough to do that). Technically if they knew they were going to cancel this tournament and did some of this it constitutes FRAUD on their part and they may think they are immune being a bunch of teepee turds but they have opened a huge Pandora's box to a massive class action lawsuit against them (although they will try to blame MSPT but them refusing to give appropriate refunds when they knew damn well what they were going to do makes it a premeditated action on their part).

interesting that I'm at poto right now and they're advertising an MSPT for November and another player is talking about this whole debacle. I guess they too were screwed out of money as well

(For those unaware, I pranked the Ho Chunk on the 9/15 radio show, using PokerPrince's exact story, but pretended it happened to Colonel Fabersham.)

They were willing to refund Fabersham's hotel room after-the-fact.

You should listen to the segment, and then get a hold of the various parties mentioned during the call. If they deny it, tell them that this situation has made it onto the internet forums, and that a radio show actually called with that story on-air to test what they would be told, and their fictitious "victim" (Fabersham) was promised a refund. It's all in the archives so they can't deny it.

You should be able to talk them into dropping this and undoing your ban at this point.

The guy definitely got screwed. I agree that Ho-Chunk should not only refund the hotel reservation, but give him the full $1,100 satellite value. (By looking at their 1st issue chip, I can only assume that the chunky ho enjoys giving a good BJ.)

Figured I’d just bump this thread as it was announced today as of May 12th they will
Be closing the Poker room. They currently have an 76k bad beat jackpot which they said they will announce in he next 48 hours how they plan to give that out. About a month ago they closed he Poker room on Monday and Tuesday’s and I knew this was coming. I still hadn’t been back there since this debacle happened
