The Grinder degening it up into this tourney calling the $50k a satellite into the one drop:
It will be interesting to hear the rumors after the tournament about what the winner tips the dealers given the fact that Harrah's waived all of the tourney fees. A typical 3% tip on the first place money would be $550,400.
I also find it amazing that Mizrachi would be dumb enough to take the bulk of the $1.4 he won in the 50K to enter the One Drop. It's the stupid shit like that gets you in tax trouble. For the sake of argument, if you expect to pay 35% taxes on $1.4 million it would be $490,000. That would leave him (assuming that he had 100% of himself) with $910,000 of the original money. Knowing his past it is completely plausible that he did not set money back from the score to cover taxes and if he bricks the One Drop he will be in it with the IRS again. That is taking into account that Micon's e-cig business is cutting into Mizrachi's side money from the Vapor 51.

more important question...what players have more than 50% of themselves in this? dwan/ivey/negraneau/galfond/trickett would be my guess...
I assume the way Guy staked his horses is via casino chips. The 50k other is probably all he really paid.

id be willing to bet daniel did...i would guess PS bought him into the event...it's super PR for them...
ivey is definitely degen enough to have more than half himself...
trickett and dwan just because of their supposed run good in the macau games...
galfond might not...
i wouldnt count shak/einhorn on this list, theyre hedgie guys...
I can't imagine Negreanu ponying-up $400-500k of his own money for this to get 50% of himself. If any professional poker player has more than a third of their action I'd be shocked. I think it was Druff that has said this before, but whatever you think these guys have for money 90% of the time it's a lot less. With the charity angle the pros are probably just into +EV, so why risk a quarter to a tenth of your net worth on a single poker tournament?

totally agree...thats why i brought it up...
you dont think stars bought daniel into this event? seems like it would be a no brainer because of the charity angle and the fact that it's one of the only events that will actually be televised...granted that doesnt help in the US, but still pub is pub...

Rick Soloman, lol.
I think that Steve-O is correct on this one. Daniel has been very public on the fact that he was selling a large % of himself although he never said how much. From looking at the seating charts that were published, it looks like he has the easiest table outside of Guy's table imo. It's funny that Guy got the best "draw".
Juanda just tweeted that he got shut out and is offering to buy someone's seat if they want out. I think that it would be +ev for some of the guys that are playing to sell to Juanda for something like $900K plus 12% to 15% of his winnings if he would be willing to give up that much to get in. I'm not going to doubt the ability of some of the young guys that are playinf, because they must be good to get backed for that much, but Juanda is a beast against the tough fields just like Seidel is.

Players already registered for the Big One for One Drop event are not eligible to participate.
I can't wait for the poker media to promote the winner of this million dollar buy-in tournament as the greatest poker player in history.
I hope one of the Russian mobsters win it.
If they didn't put a player cap on entries I'm sure they would have gotten over 60 players.
I wonder if the winner of this tournament will get invited to one of Guy Lilberte's drug and sex parties.
