First of all no one is pressing "these damn Christians" to modify their behaviour.
The problem is this group makes up a significant voting block by which they influence the political system.

Evangelical Protestantism is the nation’s single largest religious group, exceeding the size of the nation’s Catholic (20.8%), mainline Protestant (14.7%) and religiously unaffiliated (22.8%) populations.

Majority groups must realize that some bad comes with the good.
In this case the bad is exposing their role in political arenas

On the other hand, non-religious businesses (such as a Christian-owned restaurant) shouldn't be able to refuse to hire gays or refuse service to someone who just happens to be gay. However, this isn't common. Even the much-vilified Chik-Fil-A has never been accused of discrimination at their business -- they are known to be welcoming to to both gay employees and gay customers.

Personally I don't have any problem with gay marriages or gay teachers.

My issue is that Christians are the only "safe" target for the media and Hollywood to attack. They say/imply/depict tons of nasty, vile stuff about Christians, but they wouldn't do the same to Muslims, even though Muslims have far more regressive social values.

Anyone who thinks Christians aren't under attack in the last 15 years isn't paying attention.

Obviously I say this as someone with no personal reason to defend Christians.

A lifelong Jehovah’s Witness, the girl—who we’ll call Anna—says she was sexually assaulted by an older church member on multiple occasions. But when the church learned of it, they decided to investigate not her assailant, but her—for the crime of having sex outside of marriage. And now it’s down to the Utah Supreme Court to decide if they should get away with it.

The court cases rests on the question of eccleiastical abstention, or whether the court can intervene in matters of religion. The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Roy, Utah, claims it was engaging in regular religious practice when it forced the teenager to relive to her own rape. And so far, the courts have agreed. But lawyers for the woman, now in her late 20s, argue that their conduct is so “utterly intolerable” that it transcends this rule.

"Whatever ‘autonomy’ the Establishment Clause confers on religious authorities,” the lawyers wrote in a brief to the court, “it does not provide them with a constitutional right to subject a minor to an audio recording of her own rape.”
