Got a sweet lil festival coming up that revolves around weed (medical/recreational/activism type thing). go figure, amirite? Gonna be a time. Also marks the fist time I've been booked for my BDay. No idea what I'm gonna play, but starting to prep this wknd.

you getting paid $150 reminds me of a gig i once played.
I was told i could play funk/hiphop/soul at this local bar (it's a soccer themed bar go figure)
I bring all my equipment, set it up. it's the middle of winter. it was a bitch to get my decks and stuff inside, but i did it.
now halfway through the set a guy comes up all drunk and says "PLAY SOME RAMONES!"
now don't get me wrong, I like the ramones, but i was playing something different. something my friend who was the doorman, told me to play. that's what i was hired for.
turns out, it was the owner of the bar. he didn't like it.
bartender pulls me aside and says "i'm really sorry, but the owner doesn't like what you're playing. But i'm gonna pay you anyway, because you were told to play what you were playing"
she turned the house stereo on.
fucking assholes.
moral of the story: there is none. fuck bar owners.
