Nice is far from Paris. It's right on the border with Italy, in the extreme southeast of the country.

Crazy one truck can mow that many people down. They must have been going fast and had a clear lane. I assume late at night so crowd drinking. Bastille day so fireworks I am guessing. Makes the attack harder to spot in time.

I pointed out the geography because Paris and non-Paris are two different worlds in France.
Since other recent French terror attacks have occurred in Paris, I wanted to point out that this was far from Paris, both geographically and culturally.

When I visited Paris and then traveled through the rest of France, I noticed a lot of these differences myself.
