Are the Dodgers in trouble now with Kershaw out possibly indefinitely??

Speaking from experience back issues suck. They claim he has a herniated disc which wont need surgery.. Yep they said the same thing about Tiger Woods too and now he's had more then one back surgery and still isn't the same. Kershaw is younger obviously, but being a pitcher puts a strain on the back more so then the regular fielders in baseball. This could likely mean the Giants are gonna be able to run away and hide now in the NL West because if Kershaw is out any significant time they are gonna be in trouble.

He's 28 years old signed to a long ass contract so they need to look at the future. If Kershaw is able to comeback in a month without hurting himself worse then great but if not then you rest him as long as needed because he is a huge piece of the franchise.

If he's out for a long time, then yes, the Dodgers are fucked.

If it's a short time, they can at least tread water long enough to remain competitive for the wildcard.

They picked up Bud Norris from the Braves, who pitched well tonight.

    Agree with this.

As a Red Sox fan, this also sucks now because the Dodgers are probably going to be in the same market for a big time starting pitcher if Kershaw is out for an extended period of time.

When two tribes go to war? Nope.

    David Price
    Johnny Cueto
    Jordan Zimmermann
    Cole Hamels
    Zack Greinke

Dodgers passed on them all. Nothing has changed since last year.

Dodgers value nerds play in the shallow end with Oakland A's.

Now the Red Sox. Money & prospects and a fan base that gives a shit. Red Sox have offense to complement pitching. Not so much Dodgers.

Actually the only reason I can see Dodgers doing something different would be to demonstrate to Kershaw they want to win now (instead of some Phillies style rebuild) so they don't lose him on the opt out.

It's sad that I knew the content of OSA's post before I even read it.

Anyway, Joc is out, too. Crashed into a wall in Milwaukee.

Offense is also going to be a problem somewhat. Trayce Thompson has cooled down, and also has gotten so used to popping home runs that he can't hit with runners in scoring position.

Puig is back. Hopefully he will start hitting.

Seager is the best hitter on this team, but that's a lot of weight to put on those young shoulders which OSA fantasizes about.

Dodgers screwed up by passing on the big market pitchers, especially Cueto who went a little cheaper thanks to that bad half year in KC.

Hamels had a down year in 2015 and was a bit questionable, but has performed nicely so far in Texas. Either way, he would have made a nice #2 behind Kershaw.

Zimmerman also had a down year and hasn't improved. Not sorry the Dodgers passed on him.

Price hasn't looked good, though that couldn't have been predicted.

Red Sox have a long way to go to get that staff in order.

I would like to have my legs on top of those shoulders as he is thrusting his Louisville slugger into my catchers mitt.
