The public sentiment regarding Michael Jackson turned (in his favor) after he was acquitted of the second round of charges.
Basically the Santa Barbara DA's office was pissed about the out-of-court settlement (read: bribe) from the first round of charges, so they were desperate to get him on anything.
Unfortunately they ran into a really shady family accusing him, where the mom had a history of faking other "damages" for lawsuits in the past.
Basically the DA's office got clowned by a career scammer.
Jackson may have molested that boy, but the family was shady enough to where he got acquitted.
This somehow exonerated Michael Jackson in the public's eyes for everything before that, even though he was clearly a pedo.
Justice. Better to have 99 pedo's driving ice cream trucks rather then one falsely accused in jail.
