Rivera's Monaco tower to be imploded

The historic moment will take place at approximately 2 a.m. on the morning of Tuesday, June 14. It should feature fireworks and music. It is reported that crews have been removing asbestos and other hazardous materials since May 2015. I don't entirely trust that and wouldn't watch from too close. Asbestos and even concrete dust leads to silicosis far too easily. It will be televised and streamed from channel 8. I will watch from the comfort of my couch after two days of travel and work. http://www.lasvegasnow.com/

Twenty years ago, gambling represented 70% of MGM Resorts’ Las Vegas-related revenue; now it’s 30%.
Obv MGM's rise bugs me. I only offer MGM as an example. I long ago understood the current casino model was dead money.

I was shocked to see the stat above. It pleases me to be correct.... again.

What I didn't expect was the shift toward entertainment. They know what I know. The new music and sports venues are obvious examples.

I need to separate Vegas from the rest of the industry. Vegas wants to be a point of destination for music etc.

That's all good with cheap oil and airfares. Someday this will get crushed.

For now I will accept my victory. I now have no opinion going forward about this industry. See what happens. The love and hate for individual operators will be reflected in the charts.

Most of these operators are still morons. Maybe these are just new Ferris wheels. There will be plenty of fail for the yucks.

Swami - the future for these stocks, in my humble opinion, lies in new heretofore mostly unopened markets where folks will gamble with their last buck given the opportunity to do so. Its likely a good time to get into MPEL and one or two others.

Quick reminder. Should be chunks and dust soon. "One of the problems that people have within Las Vegas is that we don't have many opportunities for collective rituals, and this is clearly one of those." Another reason why casino implosions are so popular is, Stuff. Blowed. Up. Besides, how cool is it to watch a spectacle that comes to us without special effects, computer generated imagery or having to watch Cruise or Schwarzenegger.

Do you think Caesars employees will feel like the prisoners waiting on death row who hear the gallows trap door release and the sand bag drop at dawn?

I haven't talked to any CE employees lately. The floor level employees I would have a chance to talk to probably are not sweating the bankruptcy. Because their job needs to be done regardless of who owns the bricks and mortar. The employees at the corporate probably are sweating although they got a slight reprieve on the 15th.

U.S. bankruptcy Judge A. Benjamin Goldgar granted Caesars Entertainment's bankrupt subsidiary, Caesars Entertainment Operating Company (CEOC), a temporary injunction that will hold off separate lawsuits until August 29.
