Several decent free concerts coming to Fremont St. this summer.

    http://vegasexperience.com/free-las-...perience-2016/

Schedule of Free Las Vegas Concerts at Fremont Street Experience

    May 28 – Joan Jett & The Blackhearts – 3rd Street Stage
    June 11 – 3 Doors Down – 3rd Street Stage
July 2 – Cherry Poppin’ Daddies – 1st Street Stage
July 23 – Robby Krieger of The Doors – 1st Street Stage
    Aug. 6 – Vertical Horizon – 1st Street Stage
    Aug. 20 – Melissa Etheridge – 1st Street Stage
    Sep. 3 – Smash Mouth – 3rd Street Stage

All these headliner shows start at 9:00 p.m. Again, they’re free, so no ticket is necessary.

If you haven't been downtown lately it is becoming safer and a better scene all around except for parking which will cost at least $7 for each concert. If you are staying on the strip might be better to use Lyft, Uber or the clean, safe and relativly speedy SDX bus.
The Cherry Popping Daddies are not hip hop or rock but I still want to see them the most. Last saw them over a decade ago at Club Congress in Tucson. Everybody there was having a blast trying to jitterbug, lindy hop or just moving their bodies in the best stoned hippie style typical of Tucson to the Daddies horn driven 20's style.

“I believe the simplest explanation is, there is no God. No one created the universe and no one directs our fate. This leads me to a profound realization that there probably is no heaven and no afterlife either. We have this one life to appreciate the grand design of the universe and for that, I am extremely grateful.”

That headline is really stretching the definition of the word "decent".

This would have been an epic lineup in 1998.

But honestly, that's the best you're going to do for free. At least it beats some fail cover band.
