rasmussen, which always tilts heavy republican, had trump's approval at 55% for "likely voters." most or no other polls look at likely voters this early cause who the fuck knows who is a "likely voter" 4 years in advance. every other poll is just polling the general public

This is not 'libtards spinning', this is one of the pillars of the republican movement.

To be fair, someone who voted for Obama twice is not a pillar of the Republican movement anymore. (He doesn't explicitly say he voted for Obama, but he admits not voting for the Republican candidate since '04, and does not claim to have voted for a right-leaning third-party candidate, either.)

People change their political views, sometimes late in life. Some of the most right-leaning Republicans I know were once liberal Democrats, and vice versa.

While Romney was stiff and hard to relate to for the average Joe, he wasn't an "off the rails right wing" type. McCain definitely wasn't. No real Republican would have voted for Obama in those two elections. It's not like 2016 where there were legitimate reasons to object to Trump, even if you were Republican.

Bottom line is that you can't claim this as an example of a Republican wanting Trump impeached.
