The problem is that 9/11 forced us to re-evaluate who/what is protected by the constitution. Bush and his legal team (as well as Obama and his) realized that they could suspend constitutional protections to those who represented a potential material threat to the republic (grossly simplified but you get the idea).

Trump's cabinet is going to expand on the definition of what the republic is, so that anyone not adhering to a profoundly conservative vision of the republic (liberals/progressives/muslims/gays/women for that matter) will be construed as a material threat to the theocratic agenda in play.

So expect absolutely zero protection from the constitution in the coming years.
