Nothing was on really and I had the Hearings on in the background for quite a while.

I gotta admit it was compelling and slickly produced.

But here’s the thing… and it’s important to your understanding of the society in which you live…. this is really not going to move the needle very much. Trump is going to remain nearly as popular as ever. These hearings may even strengthen voters resolve to stick it to the other side with a laugh.

I contend Trump is not gonna be convicted of anything. I’ve said it before but America does not want to convict an ex President like some South American country.

This all has absolutely no reflection on Trump’s actions January 6th or whether Trump was going to ignore the election results. This is about populist anger and politics.

Trump doesn’t exist without the citizens of your country and Trump is their boy. The more divisive the better. I fear you are missing the point. I hope this has been a useful reality check.

While the libs are enjoying laughing at Josh Hawley for running through the hallways of the Capitol building in order to flee from the protestors, I'm not really understanding their point.

The leftist narrative has been that Hawley, Trump, and others knowingly incited a mob of yahoos to storm the Capitol building and forcefully prevent Biden from being certified as the next President.

However, Hawley booking it out of the building would seem to mean the opposite -- that he was truly surprised and scared that the earlier protest he led had escalated to these levels, and was now worried about everyone's safety (including his own), regardless of party affiliation and/or views on the election.

If these were really "his people" that he encouraged to invade the Capitol, he'd have nothing to fear, right? It's not like someone like Pence who was considered an enemy. Hawley was one of the election "truthers" the entire way. The crowd loved him earlier in the day. He clearly didn't intend for this to happen.

Trump didn't, either.

The only question is whether Trump was slow to act to condemn these people. The answer is that yes, he was. But that was because Trump has always had a hard time criticizing his own supporters. He's a narcissist. It's a personality flaw, but not a conspiracy.
