Could it be....?
There's a chance it could backfire on Trump. They've been throwing out all sorts of numbers that he's been getting 'paid', but there's only record of money going to a private equity firm he runs with Archer. Actual payments to him directly could be much smaller than the numbers they've been throwing around.
But they'll get to ask Bidens son what it's like to smoke crack while millions watch live, so probably worth the risk.
it's been reported hunter got $83,000 a month for a ceremonial role, which no one's disputed and i assume is true. hunter probably would have disputed it, if not.
also the burisma timeline looks horrible for so many reasons and the bidens would look absolutely terrible if forced to testify about this.
April 15, 2014: Burisma sends Hunter’s business partner, Devon Archer, $112,000.
April 16, 2014: Archer visits Vice President Biden at the White House.
April 21, 2014: The veep arrives in Ukraine bearing millions in aid for the Ukraine energy industry.
May 12, 2014: Hunter Biden joins Burisma’s board.
February, 2015: Ukrainian authorities seize property of Burisma’s CEO and go after unpaid taxes.
March, 2016: Biden demands that Ukraine’s top prosecutor, Victor Shokin, be fired and threatens to hold up $1 billion in US loan guarantees.
the absolute best case scenario for hunter is that he knew that burisma was using him for the "biden" name while his dad was vice president, but that there were no favors given to burisma, and that he had nothing to do with the prosecutor getting fired. this is all still horrible, even if true.
Where did you get that timeline?
Going off wikipedia it's off, but I haven't checked all the sources. Not claiming to be an expert on this stuff, just trying to figure out wtf really happened.
- Burisma CEO had properties seized in April 2014, not Feb 2015.
- Bidens visit to Ukraine was in December 2015, March 2016 was when Ukraine parliament voted out Shokin. (Seems like Biden was exaggerating what happened when he was bragging in that infamous video)
Prosecutor who got fired:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mykola...InvestigationsFailure to properly investigate Burisma Holdings
In 2012, the Ukrainian prosecutor general Viktor Pshonka began investigating Ukrainian oligarch Mykola Zlochevsky, owner of the natural gas company Burisma Holdings, over allegations of money laundering, tax evasion, and corruption during 2010–2012.[34][35]
In 2015, Shokin became the prosecutor general, inheriting the investigation. The Obama administration and other governments and non-governmental organizations soon became concerned that Shokin was not adequately pursuing corruption in Ukraine, was protecting the political elite, and was regarded as "an obstacle to anti-corruption efforts".[23] Among other issues, he was slow-walking the investigation into Zlochevsky and Burisma and using the threat of prosecution to try to solicit bribes from Mr. Zlochevsky and his team – to the extent that Obama officials were considering launching their own criminal investigation into the company for possible money laundering.[34]
While visiting Kiev in December 2015, then-U.S. Vice President Joe Biden warned Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko that, if he did not fire Shokin, the Obama administration was prepared to withhold $1 billion in loan guarantees. Biden later said: "I looked at them and said, 'I'm leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you're not getting the money.' [...] He got fired. And they put in place someone who was solid at the time."[36][37] Shokin was dismissed by Parliament in late March 2016.
In a sworn affidavit dated 4 September 2019,[38] for a European court, Shokin testified that "On several occasions President Poroshenko asked me to have a look at the criminal case against Burisma and consider the possibility of winding down the investigative actions in respect of this company, but I refused to close this investigation."[39] Shokin wrote the affidavit in support of Ukrainian oligarch Dmytro Firtash.[40] John Herbst, the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine during the George W. Bush administration, said that Shokin's support of Firtash, who had been arrested for bribery in 2014, undercuts Shokin's claims to be motivated by transparency.[41][42]
Shokin claimed in May 2019 that he had been investigating Burisma Holdings.[30][43][44] However, Vitaly Kasko, who had been Shokin's deputy overseeing international cooperation before resigning in February 2016 citing corruption in the office, provided documents to Bloomberg News indicating that under Shokin, the investigation into Burisma had been dormant.[45][46]
The investigation into Burisma only pertained to events happening before[47] Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden, joined the board of directors of Burisma Holdings in 2014.[48] US President Donald Trump's subsequent bid to pressure Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to announce an investigation of Joe Biden in relation to Burisma led to the December 2019 impeachment of Trump.

In 2012, Viktor Pshonka,[a] the Ukrainian prosecutor general, began investigating Burisma Holdings owner, Zlochevsky, over allegations of money laundering, tax evasion, and corruption during 2010-2012.[15][16]
In April 2014 the Serious Fraud Office froze approximately $23 million belonging to companies controlled by Zlochevsky.[17] At the end of 2014, Zlochevsky fled Ukraine amid allegations of unlawful self enrichment and legalization of funds (Article 368-2, Criminal Code of Ukraine) during his tenure in public office.[18] In January 2015, Prosecutor General Vitaly Yarema announced that Zlochevsky had been put on the wanted list for alleged financial corruption.[19] At the end of January 2015, the Central Criminal Court in London released the $23 million that were blocked on accounts of Zlochevsky due to inadequate evidence.[18] In June 2018, the Serious Fraud Office stated that the case was closed.[20]
Zlochevsky returned to Ukraine in February 2018 after investigations into his Burisma Holdings had been completed in December 2017 with no charges filed against him.[21][22]
On April 18, 2018, an alleged recording of part of a conversation between President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and fugitive Ukrainian lawmaker Oleksandr Onyshchenko was released by Onyshchenko which implicated Zlochevsky in graft.[3][23][24]
On June 15, 2018, after the Solomyansky District Court in Kyiv had annulled the ruling of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) to close a criminal proceeding against him in 2017, Zlochevsky was accused of having illegally issued, while he was Ecology Minister in 2010–2012, oil and gas licenses to the companies that belonged to him.[25]
According to Ukrainian authorities Zlochevsky is suspected of "theft of government funds on an especially large scale".[26] Authorities said the criminal investigation on suspicion of embezzlement is currently on hold because Zlochevsky whereabouts cannot presently be determined.[27] As of 2019, Zlochevsky is reported to live in Monaco.[28]

So a piece of the wall fell in high winds.
You realize it can be fixed, right?
Never understood the opposition to the wall. Just because it's not 100% effective doesn't mean that it's not helping. It's like saying that you shouldn't lock your doors at night because people have broken into locked houses. Really dumb argument.
Somehow the left believes a wall is racist, yet its purpose is to bring down the rate of illegal immigration. How is that racist?
It's not the wall itself that's racist. It's the mobs of angry white people chanting "Build the wall!" and the president saying 'they're bringing drugs, their/they're rapists and some, I assume (does not know for sure) are good people'.
It's also just an impossible promise he made, and always talked about how big and strong and beautiful it would be, and what a great builder he is, so easy red meat for the left when it falls over.
Imagine a similar situation but swap out Trump for Hillary.

Oh I understand the left trying to make fun of it, but I just never understood the entire opposition to the wall.
We have a southern border where a lot of illegal immigration pours through.
A wall is being built to reduce (but not eliminate) that. I can't see what the objection could possibly be.
Record long drug-smuggling tunnel discovered below San Diego
https://nypost.com/2020/01/29/worlds...low-san-diego/
A wall won't stop these Mexicans from getting in the country. The longest known Southwest drug-smuggling tunnel into the United States has been discovered at the Mexican border, officials said Wednesday.
The intricate underground pathway is more than three-quarters of a mile long and features a rail system and an elevator, according to US Customs and Border Protection.
One tunnel entrance is in an industrial area in Tijuana, Mexico, and stretches more than 4,300 feet into a San Diego neighborhood, CBP said.
kind of an obvious point but these tunnels arent for people.

Except for the fact, they were used to smuggle both people and drugs.
The passageway, discovered by authorities in August, is about 5½ feet high and 2 feet wide and is an average 70 feet below ground.
In addition to an extensive rail-cart system and an elevator at one tunnel entrance, the passageway is outfitted with a ventilation system, high-voltage power cables and a complex drainage system, CBP said.
Following the tunnel’s discovery, authorities located one entrance about a half-mile west of the Otay Mesa port of entry in San Diego.
That entrance was concealed by a small industrial building.
I just want to be the first to congratulate Fox "news" on turning the USA in being a dictatorship.
And Trump the tyrant reign will last past this week. Too bad for Ailes & the dead Koch brother they were around to see it.
'Nixon shouldn't have been impeached' I've heard 0 times in my life, yet, if he had a Fox "news" he wouldn't have even been close to having to resign.
Any comparison to Clinton is a joke, he lied to save his marriage. Didn't effect USA at all. But now they sound like they have the votes.
Say what you want w/Pelosi, she 0 to lose by holding that, every day she delayed new stuff came out about him, it was closer than it would've been last month.
This defense, (despite what Hannity says) was pathetic,
the only reason they have the balls to say this shit is, they know they aren't talking to an impartial jury.
