Conservative columnist Jennifer Rubin just made a pretty strong case that Trump literally assumed that Sessions would go full weasel for him and essentially run interference on keeping his presidency intact. And then Sessions lolpassed and here we are.

I believe this is very true, but before we get there, the first problem he faced is that he won yet never expected to.

Also just so its clear, Mueller may already have the legal authority to file RICO charges against team retard:

Former federal prosecutor Seth Waxman in a Friday appearance on CNN slammed President Donald Trump for insisting repeatedly that “collusion isn’t a crime”, and said that if the president or his associates engaged in bribery, they could face RICO charges that could be used to flip his most senior advisors.

“We’ve been listening to the president for months since the inception of the investigation jumping up and down, and his lawyers screaming ‘collusion is not a crime, it’s nowhere in the federal code.’ I’m here to say that’s flatly not true,” Waxman said. “The federal code in the bribery statutes, 18 United States Code section 201 expressly makes collusion a crime.”

Waxman said that if Trump or his associates accepted anything of value from Russia -including “dirt on Hillary Clinton”- in exchange for help on the campaign, they could be facing a 15-year stay in prison.

“When there’s a bribery charge, there can be even more serious offenses, things called honest services fraud which is a 20-year offense, and the most powerful weapon a federal prosecutor can use, RICO, the racketeering act,” he added. “Those are the kind of charges that are used to flip senior members of a conspiracy or a criminal enterprise.”

Unfortunately, too many GOPers won’t turn on Trump as long as conservatives like Druff don’t take Trump’s damage to the GOP brand seriously and ardently call for his removal from office.

How are RICO charges any different from other charges that require a sitting president to be indicted? Because there’s still the hurdle of whether a sitting president can be indicted for criminal charges. And if not, then 2/3rds of the Senate would have to convict Trump in a trial after getting impeached by the House. That means at leasr 18 GOP senators would have to go along with all of the Democrats. Please tell me which ones are likely to do that?

You haven’t responded to the issue of whether a sitting president can be criminally indicted. And the GOP can’t win going along with the Dems to convict him in a Senate trial after how much they’ve gone all-in for Trump to-date. Which means that the worst Trump is likely to suffer regarding federal charges, which RICO ones would be, is a pardon from Mike Pence after stepping down if Trump loses a significant portion of his base support.

And what are the odds of that happening? Most of those idiots won’t care because as long as Trump keeps championing “the Wall”, they won’t care. Even if Team Mueller puts forth a bulletproof case that Trump acted like mafiola don, his base will merely see his as their ‘Godfather’, and will turn on the GOP for betraying him.
