This is kind of where I am at, except I feel bad for the US, not Trump. I feel we (mainly the MSM and the Democratic Party and liberals in general) decided a Trump presidency was going to be so horrible we would exhaust every resource to submarine it. And predictably he is going to reply by going after them in return in probably illegal ways, as he doesn't actually know laws and is a petty bully at heart. And I think we are all going to be worse off for it.
I kinda think the leaders of all the Asian countries when he went on tour there did it right. Be nice to him, blow up his ego, get favorable policies by blowing up his ego, and move on. Knowing he was a thoroughly unqualified president with a psychiatric disorder, I think we could have approached things differently and we all would have been better of when the smoke clears. Just my opinion.
Would we really be any worse off it the media just acted impartially and didn't actively go after him all the time? Has anything positive come about from all this aggressive antagonism against him? I know you can make the argument everything the media said about him is true so they are justified in going after him. But I think the attitude has been a little too much of, "lets make things as bad as we can to show everyone what a big fuckup he is," and I think this has seriously damaged us.
I guess I don't hold him as accountable because I think he has a mental disorder and can't help himself. Maybe I am giving the average liberal too much credit too, and they suffer from Trump Derangement Sydrome so bad they can't control themselves any more than he can.
Max Power has been of the opinion that the far right faction of our beloved Republican party was taken advantage of by law makers much more experienced than themselves. All the memo did was back them into a corner. A bipartisan unanimous decision today shows that a lot of people, including Democrats, wanted the Nunes memo out. Unfortunately President Trump was too eager to shut down the Mueller investigation, and is now in a no win situation. Max Power is embarrassed for the White House right now.
Real men and women of integrity will one day save the Republican Party from this scourge.
- Max Power
no matter what happens, Trump will go down as a folk hero. I really believe history will smile on his administration.
To use a trope, they are still dangerous animals, and when you back a dangerous animal into a corner things often don't end well. I think when the smoke clears, liberals in general are going to be looking back at things and realizing how pyrrhic their victory really was, because the cost was too high.
