I didn't know we had so many comedians in this thread.considering the bipartisan support these votes got, my guess (i admit, complete speculation) is that every administration has gone on record supporting it, but held off on actually doing it cause they thought it would harm the peace process.
prior administrations probably tried to hedge between supporting israel (i.e., we recognize jerusalem as israel's capital) and not inflaming muslims by going forward with physically moving their embassy there.
As to the second point, I think this highlights how absurd the discussion about Muslims is in the Western world. In the US it is politically very incorrect to be "Islamophobic," and in much of the rest of the Western world that doesn't have such strong free speech laws, it is actually a crime to speak disparagingly against Muslims, and yet we complicity acknowledge that most of the non-politically correct stuff is actually true, in the fact that in our own countries we are afraid to say anything negative because we are worried Muslims will get mad and hurt us. If you try to look at the situation from an outside viewpoint it is actually pretty absurd.
Why do we all (including every UN country) continue to keep up this charade there are actual negotiations and a peace process. I know why we do, because it gives us a pretense for villifying Israel, because the narrative is that their aggression is holding up the peace process. However, I think it would do the entire world a lot of good to acknowledge there is no real substantive negotiations between the Palestinian leadership and Israel and no peace process.
I think it would also be beneficial to drop the pretense there is an actual Palestinian authority to negotiate with. The Palestinian Territories have no economy. Therefor they cannot afford to make or buy their own weapons, so whoever is giving them all the weapons to fight are the ones really in charge, so if we were serious about having a peace process, the entities that are really controlling the situation from that side are the one we should be talking to, whether it is Iran or whoever. And if the people really in charge aren't interested in any peace process (which I am sure they are not) the rest of the world, minus the majority of Muslim countries who would never follow along out of principle, should get together with Israel and find something we can all agree is in the best interest of the Israel and Palestinian people.

Considering a very large portion of the middle class works in the restaurant industry, which BTW has seen more growth in recent years than most other industries that employ the middle class, this is a direct slap in the face to a very large portion of Team Retard. Regardless of whether it does or not, the point is The Trump Administration, which is supposed to be the administration to make America Great Again is making moves that will all but destroy the middle class.
While management will be allowed to take the tips for themselves, the intent of this proposed rule is to allow management to flexibly allocate tips between servers and kitchen staff. Currently, unless state labor law allows otherwise, tips usually can only be shared among restaurant staff who have contact with the customer. Kitchen staff who bust their asses to make the servers look good to the customer generally aren't allowed to receive any portion of tips given to servers.This IS actually happening. Just unreal. That's why in some places you will see a seperate tip jar at/near the register for the cooks. It's also why some restaurants have tried eliminatimg tips, charging the customer more directly, and allocating some of the higher collected tevenue to the better performing kitchen staff. But tipless restaurant pricing doesn't seem to be working out very well.
Mind you, there surely will be managers who take some of the tips, but places where this egregiously happens will get a bad rep with the servers and cooks, as servers usually keep track off all of the tips they receive by going through their tickets at the end of their shifts, especially in places where a lot patrons pay with credit cards.

Mumbles, you do realize that I spent 30 years in the restaurant/hospitality industry, half of which was in Las Vegas, right? I doubt theres anyone on this forum with more real world working experience than me. Tip skimming by management has been going on for years, this will just make it that much easier. Also, the vast majority of wait staff and bartenders work on less than minimum wage (legal in a tipped position), while the rest of the restaurant staff makes a set salary. As a person in that position it is your duty to "tip out" the people that help you do your job, however, kitchen staff has traditionally NEVER been a part of that tip pool, nor should they be considering they make more in salary. Once in a while sure, but on a whole, never.
