i’m actually not sure if flynn turning is a huge deal or not. he might not have anything significant to say.

You Republicans need to just embrace the heel role. A sitting President cannot be indicted and go to trial. He would first have to be impeached and convicted by the Senate by 2/3rds and removed from office. Then he can be indicted. Given the fact the Republicans control both chambers, he is never going to be impeached, unless there is proof Trump committed such an egregious act of treason that Republicans was willing to turn their back on 85% of voting Republicans who still support Trump.

i agree with this impeachment analysis, but it doesn't apply to trump's kids. my guess would be mueller wants kushner and/or trump jr.

what is happening right now with flynn is this is morphing from a collusion case into a Logan Act case. the Logan Act prohibits private citizens from negotiating with foreign governments in disputes with the US. i.e., if trump directed flynn to tell Russia, "don't respond to the Obama sanctions, because we'll lift them."

flynn has basically admitted to this already. i don't think there's ever been a prosecution under this act, but it looks like there's a pretty clear violation
