No, candidly, it is too generous for the ultra-rich and too stingy with the rest of us. Huge tax cuts were promised for everyone. They did not deliver on this. The special interests still get theirs, the only thing that has changed is which special interests. More of the same. But at least it is not a tax increase like some of us felt with the last administration, so there is that.

The second I saw both houses of Congress and the executive were Republican I could have told you the next tax bill would be too generous of the ultra-rich and too stingy for the rest of us. This should come as a surprise to absolutely no-one, and is independent of Trump. This is what the Republican Party has been doing whenever they get a chance since the 1980s.

IMO most people aren't really savvy/smart enough to understand tax plans and economics. However, they are savvy enough to turn on their TV and to see the all out assault on white people that the MSM, Hollywood and Democratic Party, and all the minority special interest groups have been perpetuating against non-elite white America, so they vote for what they do understand.

If you are white and not a multimillionaire living in California, Massachussetts or New York the Democratic Party and MSM has nothing but contempt for you. So you vote for the other guys, even if they are con men hucksters. At least they don't outwardly show their spite and disdain for you.

I am upper middle class, educated, atheist, white and live in California. I am basically the Democratic Party demographic, except for the part about having awareness to how unproductive, dangerous and divisive it is to operate on a platform that intentionally alienates 45% of the populace.

I'm not doubting you, but can you point to a source? Everything I've looked into so far suggests that this plan saves me money. And that's even before I get off my ass and register a pass-through, which I really need to do. =/

The projections assume that repeal of the so-called individual mandate would result in many lower-income Americans choosing not to buy insurance, and thus not claim tax subsidies that help them defray the costs of health coverage.

I just don't understand the mechanism by which it's supposedly raising taxes on the poor or middle class. It appears to be a decrease from the figures I've looked at, but I'm far from an expert on the subject.

I just don't understand the mechanism by which it's supposedly raising taxes on the poor or middle class. It appears to be a decrease from the figures I've looked at, but I'm far from an expert on the subject.
