Few people are talking about this, and Utah doesn't carry many electoral votes, but this is indeed very possible.Originally Posted by rum dick

Mormons are very sensitive about religious persecution because of their history, so they were pissed when they heard that he wanted to ban Muslims from entering the US.
So while they don't love Hillary, they don't feel they are gaining anything regarding the conservative values they care about with Trump (since he's to the left on abortion and gay marriage, like Hillary is), and yet they feel he brings religious persecution to the table, which Hillary doesn't.
Also, Trump fares poorly with well-educated Americans, and Mormons tend to be educated, despite their nutty beliefs.
I mean the way that I see Trump failing is just by looking at the Primary voter turnout. In New York, Hillary's vote count equaled that of Bernie AND the entire Republican vote combined. I mean he can flip a bunch of people between now and November, but probably not in the places that he really, really needs to flip people. But that being said for the Right; if not him, than whom? I will never cow to the logic that somehow Cruz could beat Hillary moreso than Trump, or iCarly?
But all that aside; where we are now in the race, with the same things being said about Hillary.. along comes Obama and bounced her fat ass like a bad check.
So this ain't over.
I think it is very important for Trump to pick the correct VP this time around. Possible he can pull it out if he does. If he chooses Christie it's game over. Rick Scott...maybe. Kasich could be the winner.
kasich is his only move and it spells out exactly why neither dish nor i are collecting on our bets.
"Birds born in a cage think flying is an illness." - Alejandro Jodorowsky
"America is not so much a nightmare as a non-dream. The American non-dream is precisely a move to wipe the dream out of existence. The dream is a spontaneous happening and therefore dangerous to a control system set up by the non-dreamers." -- William S. Burroughs
Well the other move is to have Trump to set up a super pac and fund Bernie as an independent. Trump gets the seat, Hillary is banished and Bernie gets a $50m payday.
The VP pick usually doesn't make a ton of difference. It might possibly help in the VP pick's home state, but usually all a VP can do for you is get made fun of, like Palin or Mondale or Quayle. Exception: Bentsen, who was at least as qualified as Dukakis and it was Dukakis being made fun of.
I don't think Kasich would accept an offer from Trump anyway.
I agree it's not over. But I think it will be hard for Trump to win over those who don't like him with a "more presidential" persona. Who he has been during the primaries is who he really is, and it will be hard to suppress for any length of time.
I think Kasich would have had the best chance against Hillary.
Sen. Jeff session's as VP would solidify the evangelicals, the kkk, and mostly all the white males over 30 in the South. It would give trump the edge in Florida. I know druff talked about obama winning Florida, but what he forgot is evangelicals hate mormons and Florida is full of evangelicals, especially north florida, they didn't show up to vote in 2012, im sure they will show up in droves come November.
Rick Scott? You mean the guy who headed a major healthcare company that committed billions of $$$s of Medicare fraud?
But in reading some FB posts of some evangelical folks I know, I agree that Kasich would have the best effect of mobilizing the religiois right that Trump already doesn't draw. But the backup religious right wingman for Trump is probably Ben Carson.
