I will say the guy should get paid and he would have, actually he did take a lessor amount instead of waiting. Mission has always paid and has a flawless reputation for running that contest for years.

Chaps wasn’t a long term member there but basically joined for a free roll and to his credit won. The bigger issue is how someone stays broke for Months after Month and can’t change their situation that less than $500 means this much to them.

Certainly not a good look to those who feel this place is filled with broke losers.

I was actually rooting for Chaps and was supportive of him getting a job where he was going to get a per diem. I give to GoFundMe all the time. I was going to donate $200 to him when he was up and running, just as a feel good measure. Literally, I have probably given $2,000 over the last couple years to various people, most I don't know. I was down on my luck 15 years ago so I give a few bucks here and there. You know when you are down on your luck but trying to get better, you get the point.

This piece of shit does not deserve a dime. If he was making an effort to better himself that would be one thing. But his is just living off the government dole so fuck him.

Yea at some point Druff needs to step in and stop the guy from running scams here. I offered to cover him for $1000 for 10% if Druff would guarantee it. Obviously Druff wouldn’t do it, so he knows it’s a scam.

Let’s not mince words if Chaps cut back his weed consumption just a little he might not have as many money issues. He also might be able to get and keep a job. Employers even in Canada frown on employee being baked on the clock.

Wizard of Vegas is a site mainly aimed at casino advantage players.

It is run by Michael Shackleford, known as "The Wizard of Odds", who runs wizardofodds.com.

He sold wilzardofodds.com awhile back for like $2 million, so great for him, but I think he still maintains them as part of the deal. I didn't pay much attention to the whole thing.

My Vegas Casino Talk site is essentially an alternative venue for those on Wizard of Vegas. This is because Wizard of Vegas has much stricter rules than Vegas Casino Talk, so people come to my site when they want a more lax, free speech environment (or when Wizard of Vegas bans them).

Wizard of Vegas used to be a highly active site, but it has declined a lot in recent years.

I hardly ever post there.

I didn't start Vegas Casino Talk, by the way. The site was started as alanbestbuys.com in 2010, by former LA consumer reporter Alan Mendelson. It was meant as a promotional forum for Alan's infomercials, but Alan was also a recreational gambler, so he had a "Las Vegas" subforum there, which somehow quickly evolved to a Wizard of Vegas alternative. I showed up in 2013, and eventually rose up to be the tech guy and running the site on the PFA server (but Alan still administrated), to Alan eventually getting fed up and handing it over to me completely. At that point the name changed, but all the old content remained. I switched a few subforums around, but for the most part it's the same site. I'm also running it in approximately the same spirit Alan ran it, which resembles the way I administrate PFA anyway.

It's a good thing I took it over, because Alan passed away in 2022, at the age of 70. Alan's son still posts on the forum sometimes.

PFA members who came from Vegas Casino Talk include mickeycrimm, The Boz, Misson146, and a few others.

This is a pretty fucking shit take. No one is saying any of that either, DJ Chaps won some money so the guy should fucking pay him. I don't get why some of y'all are cool with people running contests and slow paying considering all the gamblers we got on site. I don't give a shit how well known the guy is, or how they are running the contest out of the kindness of their heart or what the fuck ever. You run a real money contest fucking pay up when the contest is over, period.

Wizard of Vegas is a moderated site and mission146 is a former moderator there. He's a gambling writer for Latest Casino Bonuses which owns the Wizard of Odds site and also Wizard of Vegas. LCB bought the sites from Shack for 2.4 Million. However, Shack remains with the company as a paid consultant and figurehead.

Mission and Michael Shackleford have a long history together. They used to be real palsy-walsy. But the dynamic has changed somewhat. WOV uses suspensions to punish members for insults and hijacking.

About a month ago Shack suspended Mission for "insulting MDawg." The insult was Mission saying MDawg's thread, "Adventures of MDawg" was boring. I agree with Mission. It is boring so I never read it.

But a lot of people thought Shack was out of line on that one. Especially since Mission had just accepted a major task from Shack. He asked Mission to go thru every one of MDawg's posts over a few year and total up MDawg's reported win/loss at baccarat over that period. MDawg is one of those guys that claim they beat baccarat 24/7/365, rarely have a losing session. It took Mission several days to do the work.

Now, with this DJChump episode Shack has suspended Mission indefinitely until he pays DJ. Here's the suspension list:

I've got no issue with Shackleford and have met him before. In person he's exactly what you'd expect -- a skinny, older, quiet intellectual-looking guy.

But that "Suspension List" mickeycrimm posted above is pretty amazing.

In just the last few weeks alone, they've suspended MrV, AxelWolf, MDawg, and 1 or two others. This is notable because MrV and AxelWolf are both good posters. I've met AxelWolf a number of times, and his posts are always well thought out and coherent. MrV is an attorney, and also makes quality posts. MDawg is also an attorney, and is somewhat controversial for various reasons, but I thought he and Shackleford were friendly.

It looks like they're heavily moderating the place, banning people for "insults", which is dumb. It's not even that active of a site anymore.

I guess this is why it's important to have Vegas Casino Talk around as an alternative. If anything, Vegas Casino Talk has the opposite problem -- I rarely suspend or ban anyone (aside from spammers), and there's tons of insulting/fighting going on there. But that's the way it already was when I showed up, so I kept it that way.

MDawg is controversial because he posts detailed stories of high stakes casino gambling, pictures of lavish suites, and claims to be a big winner, yet his stories don't quite add up. People questioning MDawg were getting banned on Wizard of Vegas for some time. This spilled over to Vegas Casino Talk, and I had to deal with it. I still am. I let everyone argue all they wanted, but then it got into doxxing, where people were posting MDawg's identity (or strong hints as to his identity), and then MDawg was doing the same thing to someone else. Whole thing was a big mess.

Doxxing is a huge thing in the AP (advantage play) world because casino executives monitor these forums, so the last thing you want as an AP is to be doxxed on a forum where you've made AP-type posts before. So I take that very seriously over there. Huge pain in my ass though.

But can someone tell me where the money is coming from, which is owed to Chaps?

Was it Mission's own money that he was giving away?

Or was it someone else's money that Mission was holding?

If it's the former, I can't see how it's fair to suspend Mission, as he's running a free contest with his own money. I feel he should only be suspended if he takes a super-excessive amount of time to pay, to where it's clear he's never going to. By these standards, I should be suspended from PFA for slow paying PFA freeroll $!

If it's the latter, I can understand the suspension.
