Back when I was about 18 the cops used to hassle me unmercifully. I couldn't figure out why until a buddy of mine became an auxiliary constable & found out I was being mistaken for a drug dealer who moved to town with the same name & this was in a town of less than 3000 & my first name isn't all that common. One cop went so far to tell my girlfriend at the time that I was a drug dealer at a christmas party & was, surprisingly, dumped the next day which is really fucked up since I've never done drugs in my life. Seriously.
I had a couple run-ins with that fucker after this, including a couple totally unwarranted tickets, & proceeded to say some really fucked up, disrespectful things to him in front of a bunch of my friends & another cop while we possibly being arrested for public consumption & they were all like
During my verbal assault I got him to admit that he had done exactly that with my GF & he was still obviously under the impression I was actually the drug dealer guy. He told me that if he found out I was correct & it was a case of mistaken identity he would apologize but, needless to say, I never heard from that 2-faced fuck again. The other rookie cop that was with him did stop me a few months later & told me that they did, in fact, confirm what I had said but not to expect an apology from him because he was an asshole that nobody liked & we had a good laugh about the dressing down I had given him.
I haven't been hassled for over 35 years but not before I paid lots of tickets & ended up losing my license on demerits because of it but thank god this was before my insurance would have went thru the roof because of it.
I'm not defending dwai at all, but sometimes cops hassle people for the weirdest fucking things.
