The U.S. Attorney General is charged with appointing Assistant U.S. Attorney's. However, U.S. Attorney's by law can't be appointed by the Attorney General. They have to be nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate.
So what's the big deal with that? Well, just this one little thing. The Attorney General is charged with appointing Special Counsels. However, only U.S. Attorney's can be appointed Special Counsel. No one else is qualified under the law.
Far left Wikipedia says Jack Smith is a former Assistant Attorney General and "Acting U.S. Attorney." Just one problem with that. There is no such thing as an "acting U.S. Attorney. Lefty ass Wikipedia is shilling for Smith.
Jack Smith was not nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate to be a U.S. Attorney, and WAS NOT LEGALLY QUALIFIED TO BE APPOINTED SPECIAL COUNSEL BY MERRICK GARLAND.
Jack Smith has no legal authority to prosecute Donald Trump.
