Well, unless I'm misremembering, I'm pretty sure Trump even spoke highly of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte a while back and his "drug control plan"...the guy who basically mandated that anyone be shot and killed on the spot without any evidence or due process whatsoever if drugs are suspected. Thousands were killed in the Phillipines under that order. Trump and Duterte apparently had a great relationship while he was president.

At this point, I feel like Trump has become (for lack of a more eloquent description) some kind of a multi-level parody of himself, which earlier I'll admit I didn't even think was actually possible given how ridiculous he already was. But he continues to raise the bar.

The establishment wing of the party is certainly going to try and take back the party. You will hear a lot of "we need to get away from extremism." If you noticed Trump used a more subdued style in his announcement speech. Look for him to continue that. But he will certainly pounce if republicans attacks him.
