I can answer this one.
No version of Tydepoker was ever successful.
Ever.
Not once.
There were VERY brief periods of time (usually in the first week the site came up) where people would register and make a few posts.
Inevitably, they got quickly bored with it, or Marty banned them.
Most of the people were honestly there to troll Marty, including some of the mods (remember Tapper?)
Every single version of Tydepoker became a ghost town within weeks.
But even at its very best moment, Tydepoker was never "thriving".
Marty was also extremely sensitive and quick with the banhammer. If anyone even slightly hurt his feelings, they were gone. Occasionally he would suck it up for a few days and take everyone's shit, in the name of trying to keep some traffic on the site. Within days, that tolerance would disappear, and the hammer would fall.
The reason Tydepoker no longer exists is because it was always a failure. If people were clamoring to return there, Marty would have put it back a long time ago. You know how much he wants to be top dog.
Marty refers to how he "bent over backwards" to accommodate me when Tydepoker was up. That's also false. In addition to people showing up there to troll him, others showed up to post my personal info (or more often, info about my family). They felt this was a "safe" place to do it, as they assumed Marty hated me and would allow it. Indeed, Marty would look the other way when this shit happened, until I applied enough pressure on Marty, basically pointing out that his own info would be fair game if he didn't control the info-posting dupes on his site. So then he would finally put a stop to it, and then pat himself on the back for what a huge favor he was doing me.
That, my friends, was Tydepoker.
And THIS, my friends, currently IS Tydepoker: http://tydepoker.com
Tydepoker also suffered from embarrassing technical fail, even with really simple things such as the forum displaying messages properly.
This also extended to his blogtalkradio show, which made PFA Radio look like a robust technical marvel by comparison.
This is why it's so hilarious when Marty tries to troll me regarding any bugs or issues with this site.
Marty only wishes his failsite worked as well as PFA, or had even half as many features. I mean, the guy had to reserve "1 hour or two hours" on blogtalkradio because he couldn't get a radio show running from his own site.
It really is revisionist history at its finest.
In all honesty, it's not like either forum was getting millions of views. They're all "fail sites" compared to any successful forum that has decent traffic and following. Both of you are pretty much arguing about who's site was less fail.
I was really a fan of nwp BECAUSE off the flaming and in fighting. It's just hilarious how people who've never met each other in real life, or even live in the same state, can have so much hate for each other. The autism on these forums is rampant.
With that said, I find it very entertaining. Keep up the good work
There was a time period where micon was legitimately scared because the dd traffic was miniscule compared to tydepoker. Im not saying it wad 2+2 busy but it did suck The majority of dd traffic and turned it into a ghost town
boris in its heyday/height of its powers was easily the best and most fun forum i've ever posted on/read. there was hilarity on a daily basis and a real sense of community. don't get me wrong i loved me some NWP and PFA does have its moments. but nothing will compare to what boris did for a year or two. hell i was willing to pay 5k for a controlling interest but neverstop wouldn't cede control, which is too bad because it would still be alive and thriving if he had. Also SKATZ is GOD but it is admittedly a circle jerk (albeit a circle jerk involving some of the cream of the crop best posters ever)
It's like you fags completely forgot AUTO PLAY ON THE TITLE PAGE
Boris "Fun with Falconry" thread will live in Infamy
I for some odd reason always liked the combine posters names game
I raise.

I'm not saying that PFA has huge traffic, because it doesn't.
But it's also more than a niche site followed by 50 people, which is pretty much what Tydepoker was even at its peak.
PFA (and NWP/DD, as well) gets a lot of lurker traffic from both links from the outside (mainstream poker articles, search engine results) and radio show listeners (about 1000 per week -- and not always the same 1000 people).
This is why I am sometimes concerned about what is posted here, as I know a lot of people are watching that I will have to see in person.
PFA is in that zone in between a failsite and being big/popular. However, I will acknowledge that it has also likely peaked, and will not grow significantly larger at any point.
