My "Hillary Clinton won't face federal Charges bet", had a deadline of 1/1/2017



So i check the day after they announce no charges, and its not paid, but "it will tomorrow"
2 days later same thing, then last night the guy pulls out the deadline.
He caught me off guard, but this is what I wrote today.


I wrote in last night and I'm not happy w/the answer I was given.
I find that you guys not paying out bet # 384840512-1 is wrong.
You wouldn’t treat a sporting event, that had no official start time, the same.

With that said, if the date of the bet ending is 1/1/17, then you have to wait until 1/1/17.

Similarly, if I bet an NBA game of Over 205, and the score is 110-103 by the end of the 3rd, I still need to wait until the game is over to get paid.

I get your points, but honestly there is still a very tiny chance of charges being pressed at some point before 1/1/17, so they have a right to hold out paying until then.

I hate futures bets for this reason. Money is tied up for way too long, even if you win.

I agree with 5 dimes on this as they got you on the date but it's weird that it's so long away.

This would mean our legal system failed us if they run out the election and she loses to Trump then gets indicted the last week of November.

Now I look at it and say I'm (in all likelihood) getting a 100% annual return on the bet... I should have put $10K on it.

But then III need to consider having money on deposit offshore for 4 years. Once you win its going to take at least a year to withdraw..... SB.ag hates to pay out and then you need to consider if you could have used the $10K betting other stuff in the meantime and what the opertunity cost is here.
