Been a few over the few days in Japan. Nothing major, but just now a 7.1 at a depth of only 7km has just been measured. That is super shallow considering the magnitude.
Could even be a precursor for something much bigger coming.
Either way. Sucks to be Japan right now.
I just can't imagine the ground shaking. That would be cool to feel one for a couple seconds.

I remember watching a programme which said San Francisco (or was it LA?) is absolutely nailed on for some sort of mega quake within the next 20 years or so. And I watched that about 10 years ago now.

jesus start watching this around the 1:45 mark. it's a graphic of all the earthquakes in japan in 2011. march (ie when the big one hit) is just batshit crazy
Several hours after the quake they're still reporting only one fatality.
Amazingly lucky if true. But after watching a live feed of the damage, I'm simply not having that.
