Most posters here are 30's and above so we'll keep it in our age range. My choice should be obvious.
Chris Rock
Eddie Murphy
Andrew Dice Clay
George Carlin
Rodney Dangerfield
Sam Kinison

Just Chubby doing his thing.
interesting idea re: comedians
rather than vote for one i will rank, top to bottom, my preference of those placed on the ballot
George Carlin
Rodney Dangerfield
Sam Kinison
Eddie Murhpy
Chris Rock
Andrew Dice Clay
what one laughs is personal and says a lot about one has experienced or values
Carlin was a fellow recovered Catholic and pointed out life's irony in his material...that's why i rank him on top, but the others each had a special appeal that entertained...
btw, there's plenty to laugh at each day here at PFA
(long before there was a PFA i had my Grenade & Crossbones avatar at DD)
I remember ditching class my Sr Year of HS to go see the Dice movie
Definately Carlin !
OBV a question with no correct answer. I tend to like the comics who come across as the average guy/gal who needs not much in the way of props or shock factor. Cosby was a master at revealing the humour in everyday minutia.
Simply too many greats. Rating them would be pointless.
I will throw in a name some don't even consider funny and that is Phil Hendrie. He and Don Rickles probably made me laugh till I hurt more than most.
Carlin #1 for me, glad to see him as an option
Louis CK quickly approaching #2
If you want to be the funniest ever you have to figure out a way to do it without being crude.
Jim Gaffigan.
And seriously if you make a list and somehow don't include 8/24 Dave Chapelle then just fuck right off.
Obv out of your list it's George Carlin by a fucking mile. Anyone that voted differently deserves to get Mathew Shepharded.
these are always hard to "judge" but there were some amazing comedians that were only with us for maybe 5-10 years. Had they still been alive, they would have had legend status by now. Bill Hicks, Mitch, Kinison.
He's not my fave, but can we get some mothafuckin Steven Wright love up in here?
voted rock, but gotta give it to carlin for the 7 words you cant say on TV...
john belushi as well...
