Was selfmade Dutch Multi-Millionare murdered over $80k Euro poker debt?

Back on March 4th the body of SelfMade Dutch entrepreneur Koen Everink was found at his home in the Netherlands. He had been stabbed multiple times. Fast forward to March 24th and Professional Tennis Coach Mark de J was arrested and charged with murder when he returned to the Netherlands from a trip to the USA. The coach claimed the day Everink was murdered he was watching a Dutch Premier League match and saw shady folks hanging around.

Upon some digging it appears De J owed Everink at least 80k Euro over large sums he had borrowed to play on PokerStars (apparently mostly playing .25/.50 PLO both 6 and 9 seat cash games as well as Zoom but including high stakes $25/$50 with 5k BI). Everink apparently threatened to out De J's degenerate ways and money issues unless something could be worked out. De J had been seen degening at cash games at the Crown Casino during the Aussie Millions but never played in any tournaments as the timing matched up while he was there for the Australian Open.

Not saying that any of this isn't true...but what a low sum of money to kill someone to get out of paying
