The one at Flamingo I listed is the best one, but truthfully all of the games in Vegas suck. It will cost a lot to earn Diamond.

Thanks for your work in updating the thread Dan, it's greatly appreciated. I'll be in Tahoe next weekend and plan to see how the 50-play at Harrah's stacks up. How did you do this past trip?

I signed up for the Founders Club trial membership and discovered that Ceasers Diamond is only good through January 31st 2020. Tomorrow!
I wrote to support asking about this and got this reply

From Founders Club support regarding continuing the deal with Ceasers for Diamond status for 2020:

We're currently working on the Caesars contract now, so we can't guarantee it will be extended until the contract is signed. That being said, if/when it is renewed, your date would automatically get pushed to Jan 31, 2021. We're hoping to finalize it in the next few weeks, so just stay tuned on the benefit page for updates.

So what that means is, you can't count on it. I wouldn't be surprised if Ceasers cancels the deal because it is just too valuable. By far the BEST way to achieve Diamond if it continues...

WOO! HOO! Great news... As I am staying at least nine nights during the WSOP the savings in resort fees alone makes it worthwhile. Never would have found this without your tips. Those podcasts are worth every cent I pay for them!
Seriously, best podcast on the air and this is just one of the reasons.

Hey everyone, I have good news for you if you want Diamond for CHEAP, without having to gamble.

You can apply for the Amex Hilton HHonors Surpass Card, which has a $95 annual fee. That gives you instant Hilton Gold status, which can then be converted via status matches to Caesars Diamond.

    Here's how:

    1) Get a free Hilton HHonors account. If you're already a member, you can skip this step.

    2) Apply for the card. If you already have Hilton Gold, good news! You can skip this step, and you'll get Caesars Diamond for free! (Just follow the below steps.)

    3) Get a Wyndham Rewards account. If you already have a Wyndham account, you can skip this step.

    4) Once you've been approved for the card and get upgraded to HHonors Gold, do a free (and instant) status match to Wyndham Diamond.

    5) Once you are Wyndham Diamond (verify it says Diamond when you log into your Wyndham account), go do a status match to Caesars Rewards Diamond. First login to your Caesars Rewards account on caesars.com. Then come back here and click this link to do the match. Then wait 7 days for it to take effect.

You will have Caesars Diamond until January 31 of the following calendar year.

Do NOT worry about Wyndham's scary message that you'll lose Diamond within 90 days. This will NOT downgrade your Caesars Rewards status. Once matched, you will have Caesars Diamond until January 31 of the following year, no matter what.

None of this is illegal or against program terms.

I was told that Harrah's Resort Southern California (Rincon) has shut down the Bonus Poker Aces and Faces machines, and will not be bringing them back up.

Be aware of that before attempting to make the trip there.

Only works if you live in the US. I tried but can't get the credit card because I live in Canada. #FFS

Update: I called Amex and they told me to apply for this card: https://www.americanexpress.com/ca/e...t-bonvoy-card/

I do not think it will work for eventually getting Diamond.

Hey Todd can you check for me. There may be other Canadians in the same boat as me.

Yeah that one won't work to get the necessary status match.

I searched but can't find a credit card for Canada which gets you instant Hhonors Gold. Maybe call Hhonors and ask them?

BTW, if you have an American Express Platinum (expensive, so not worth it just for this), you also get Hhonors gold. Match it here: https://www.americanexpress.com/ca/e...ld-status.html

Confirmed: Aces and Faces 8-5 Bonus Poker has been removed from Harrah's Resort Southern California (Rincon).

Now the best game there is 98.98% 9-6 Double-Double Bonus.

It worked! So easy a technological cave man could do it!
Here are a few comments on the steps:
    1) Pretty simple
    2) Also simple
    3) OK
4)When Wyndham asks for a photo of your "card", they mean a screenshot of your Hilton Honors program card, NOT the credit card you will get in the mail.
Once I figured this out (D'OH!) I realized I don't know how to do a screen shot. A little Google session taught me to hit the "Windows" Button and the "prt sc" at the same time and it saves a screen shot which you can then paste into the space on the Wyndham site. (OK, I can see most of you yawning, but if there's one person out there that was helped, it was worth it, so shut up!)

The status match to Wyndham wasn't instant, it took 48 hours.

5)The seven day wait is business days, so real time it could be 9 or 10. I requested my match on a Tuesday and got upgraded the following Wednesday (Today)
They didn't send me any notification but when I logged in to my ceasers rewards account this morning my status was diamond.

Also, I booked a room at the Rio several weeks ago and the agent I spoke to said it would be no problem to call back when I got Diamond to call back and get the resort fees removed.

Thanks again Todd! I first heard you talk about this on the podcast, which I love.

    Great news, Bilbo!

By the way, you absolutely can get the resort fee removed. You don't even need to call. When you check in, just tell the front desk agent, "I'm Diamond now, please remove the resort fee."

Or you can call. That also will work.

Can anyone explain the strategy for 'Not So Ugly Ducks' Deuces Wild'? Looking to go to Harrahs and play when this corona mess is over, but the website it sent me to didn't really explain the strategy

Yes, go to this site: https://wizardofodds.com/games/video...ll-pay/simple/

Then look for the number of deuces you're dealt (0-4), and pick the appropriate strategy list. Then go from top to bottom as far as what you should hold (by priority). For the zero deuces, throw it all away if nothing you have is listed.

For example, let's say you get one deuce dealt to you.

Here's the hierarchy of what you hold.

    1. Any pat four of a kind or higher
    2. 4 to a royal flush
    3. Full house
    4. 4 to a straight flush with 3 consecutive singletons, 5-7 or higher
    5. 3 of a kind, straight, or flush
    6. All other 4 to a straight flush
    7. 3 to a royal flush
    8. 3 to a straight flush with 2 consecutive singletons, 6-7 or higher
    9. deuce only
So let's say you have 2x5s9sJsKd

That means you have four to a flush (three spades plus the deuce), and three to a straight flush (9sJs plus the deuce). This guide is saying that you do NOT chase the flush. You just throw everything away except for the deuce. I know this because "4 to a flush" isn't on the list, nor is "3 to a straight flush" (unless it's two consecutive straight flush cards).

However, let's say it was 2x5s9sTsKd. Then you'd hold 2x9sTs because that would qualify as #8 above.

(Thanks to go_buccos for pointing out an error in my post, which is now fixed.)

Yes, I agree worst year ever. But if things get going gain before next January 31st you can go spend one night at a property and use the $100 meal voucher. There, you've paid the $95 for the card.

They might extend Diamond for this reason, but I'm guessing they won't because you already get a full extra year with it (well, an extra year if you earn it via play, and do so early in the year.)

The people who are really going to get fucked are the ones who earned it in December 2019. Theirs expires in January 2021 and they will barely get benefits out of it.

Guess we'll see. Maybe they'll tack on an extra year anyway, just to entice people to come back and prevent complaints/frustration over earned status being "wasted".

Not that anyone cares right now, but before I got diamond with the credit card trick I had signed up for FoundersCard, cancelled, and got the $295 offer just like Druff said.
That was maybe 2 months ago and I didn't respond and yesterday I got an offer of one year for $99. I wonder if they're going to get any takers on that deal?
