DRK's stupid assed thread full of cop shit and stuff

Here is a thread full of Police calls during St. Patty's day for the area surrounding Wrigley Field. For those who have never been there, there is a long stretch (maybe 3 blocks long) of restaurants and bars, and the neighborhood is essentially just out of college crackers.

SLOP O' THE MORNING: St. Patrick's Binge Brings 7 Arrests, Nearly 30 Ambulance Runs

Yesterday’s St. Pat’s party in Wrigleyville was better organized and seemed to have a more robust police presence than annual green plague of recent years.

Based on conversations with sources and first responder radio traffic, CWB estimates that 7 people were arrested during the all-day affair. More than two dozen revelers were hauled off to hospitals via ambulance.

Last year, 17 people were arrested and more than 40 ambulances were summoned during the Irish invasion.

21 were arrested in 2014, when only 17 ambulance runs were recorded.

Police tactical units from four districts patrolled Clark Street. And, for the first time, someone in city government decided to erect barricades to keep drunks out of traffic. Incredible!

Now, here’s our annual digest of St. Pat's Saturday as heard on Chicago police and fire radio.

1:26PM — Dust off the ambulance. We have a female unconscious outside of Sluggers World Class Sports Bar, 3540 N Clark.

2:08PM — A woman calls 911 to report that the Cubby Bear, 1059 W Addison, won't return her ID. Officer: “10-4. We’ll take care of that nonsense.”

2:16PM — Callers at Addison and Halsted report seeing a man with a gun in his pocket. He is the first of many persons who will be described as wearing green clothing.

2:38PM — Man passed out on a motorcycle in the alley. 1200 block of Addison.

2:44PM — Caller says her neighbor just whacked her with a bottle. 1300 block of Addison.

2:45PM — Courtney says she was jumped at Roscoe and Clark. The offenders fled in an unknown direction. They were wearing green clothing.

3:00PM — 10 “teens” fighting in the street. 3700 block of N Halsted.

3:05PM — Burglary in progress. Security reports two white men in green sweatshirts have climbed to the upper deck of a parking garage north of Wrigley Field.

3:26PM — The intoxicated caller says Subway restaurant employees won’t serve gay people. 951 W Addison.

3:39PM — The roommate came home drunk and is beating the caller. 3500 block of N Wilton.

3:51PM — A man “hit his head on the ground” at 3505 N Clark. Nearby, a woman has “passed out” at 3485 N. Clark.

3:55PM — Sergeant: “Fire is really blocking everything up over here” with all of their, you know, ambulances. Police close Clark Street to traffic until the casualties are wheeled away.

4:14PM — Dispatcher: “Battery just occurred. 3441 Sheffield. See Jessica. This call has an hour on it, so she’s probably gone.”

4:16PM — In a masterful piece of managerial logic, a sergeant announces that officers won’t respond to reports of DUI drivers unless the DUI driver is stationary.

4:27PM — Broadway and Wellington for the drunk woman wrestling a cab driver in the street.

4:31PM — Roscoe and Ashland for the drunk man and drunk woman fighting over their car keys.

5:09PM —We have a tie in the race to be the first person arrested in Wrigleyville. Two men are being locked up at Clark and Patterson.

6:21PM — Cop injured near Red Ivy. Arrestee #3 is charged with aggravated battery to a police officer. Smooth.

6:26PM — Officers stumble across a fight near McGuigan’s Irish Pub, 3358 N Ashland. An ambulance is soon summoned for a victim who’s been conked over the head with a bottle.

6:32PM — Two calls from the Hidden Shamrock, 2723 N Halsted. One caller says a patron tried to steal a beer. The other caller says someone’s threatening to shoot people inside the bar. The first caller was right.

7:00PM — The Chicago police pipe and drum band marches through Clark Street traffic. It's on video thanks to the1stmikec

7:10PM — Reveler withdraws $200 from an ATM at 948 W Addison. A stranger walks up to him and claims to have a gun. Reveler hands over his $200 plus $20 more that he has in his wallet. The offender, described as a 6-foot-3-inch, 240-pound black man dressed in a red hoodie, fled toward the nearby 7-Eleven. His description will be the only one heard on police radio today that does not include the word "green."

8:00PM — An Amazon Prime driver rings a doorbell in the 3900 block of Fremont to deliver a package. The drunken customer responds via intercom that he’s going to get his gun and come downstairs. Mr. Amazon Prime runs away and calls police.

8:30PM — A drunk male is fighting the ambulance crew at 1035 W Addison.

8:34PM — There’s a man down with broken ribs after being beaten in a parking lot at Clark and Grace. He’s transported to Weiss Hospital.

9:01PM — Pedestrian struck by a car. Clark and Roscoe.

9:14PM — Dispatcher: “Clark and Racine. We got multiple calls of a man screaming for help and neighbors yelling at him to shut up.” Cop: “Yeah. That was our guy with the broken ribs.”

9:28PM — Fire’s rolling for a 32-year-old man who’s having heart trouble after eating a pot brownie. Cornelia and Lakewood.

9:43PM — Reckless driver. Broadway and Belmont. Male in a green Nissan Pathfinder swerving all over the road and throwing bottles.

9:48PM — Dispatcher: ”If anybody’s near Clark and Irving…a concerned citizen says two intoxicated male whites are fighting and one of them is losing.”

10:13PM — Michael called 911 to report that his friend Bridget is lost near Addison & Clark. She's blond and wearing a green shirt.

10:14PM — Now a woman is calling to report that Bridget has either gotten lost or, alternatively, roofied.

10:16PM — Over in Boystown, a caller reports that there’s a man selling drugs inside of D.S. Tequila. The alleged dealer is described as a white man wearing green Mardi Gras beads.

10:16PM — Unknown officer: "Can you help us on these descriptions? Everybody out here has a green shirt and blue jeans on today."

10:40PM — Large fight breaks out at Roscoe and Halsted. Police eventually find a victim at the nearby 7-Eleven, bleeding profusely from his eye. The victim refused to sign a complaint.

10:49PM — Report of three men fist fighting with the employees at Moe’s Cantina, 3518 N Clark.

11:05PM — Back in Boystown: Four men fighting outside of Hydrate, Halsted and Cornelia. Police find a man beaten in the alley. He’s carted off by ambulance.

11:10PM — Female passed out. 2961 Halsted. Female passed out, 3506 Clark.

11:26PM — Recommendation: Don’t drink on the public way. Especially in front of the police station. Citation issued. 850 W Addison.

MIDNIGHT — The caller says he can’t leave Peet’s Coffee & Tea because there are a bunch of guys outside waiting to beat him up. 3500 N Halsted.

12:03AM — Man flags down police at Racine and Eddy to report that two black men and a black woman wearing all green clothing and jeans pulled out a gun and tried to rob him. He managed to run away.

12:04AM — The man now says they were all white, not black. But they were all dressed in green clothing and jeans.

12:06AM — The man tells police that he doesn’t want to file a report after all. He’s just going to go home.

    12:24AM — Whoops! You just rear-ended a police car. That’s gonna put a damper on your St. Patty’s Day. 1138 W Addison.

12:27AM — Jimmy says the door to his apartment is kicked in and he is 99% sure that the tenants upstairs who are having a party did it! 3800 block of N Sheffield.

12:30AM — One arrest for traffic violations, Addison and Sheffield. The car will be impounded.

1:11AM — Clark and Belmont for the woman who’s threatening to stab people at the #22 bus stop. “They think she’s a mental.”

1:49AM — Officer: “This guy looks like he fell flat on his face, but he’s refusing service, so we’re done here.”

1:50AM — Hey! Remember that car that the police were impounding at Addison and Sheffield? Yeah, well, two women got into it and drove away. They've been caught and arrested at Belmont and Sheffield.

I'm a fan DRK but this is a pretty shitty thread.

oh come on....some of those descriptions were pretty damn funny.

I have one other thing to post, but its not as humorous. Actually, its probably the worst case scenario for Chicago after the votes tonight.

The states attorney here in Chicago, who was at the center of the Laquan mcdonald video controversy, who filed 1st degree murder charges against Van Dyk...well, she got voted out. The winner is the worst possible scenario for the CPD and Rahm.

DRK Star: I kind of doubt it. The weekend was essentially "designated" as the day for the shit shows. Im sure people will be out though, but they have to work on 3/18.

Trump is a racist, but he's targeting Muslims, not blacks. I don't want Trump because he will totally fuck up how we address Islamic extremism, but I don't recall him saying anything about blacks or policies specifically related to blacks. School me if I am wrong.

How is Chicago not under martial law?, I guess it would probably make things worse if there was martial law.

    Moral Bankruptcy Of Chicago's Elites

As the city approaches financial bankruptcy, Chicago’s elite’s line-their-pockets with taxpayer money.

There is real pain in Chicago. In the last four years, 10,000 shootings have left the city scarred. Nearly 21,000 students are trapped in failing schools. Homeowners face rising property taxes – monthly property tax payments now rival mortgage payments. One million residents have fled the city since 1950 for prosperity elsewhere.

Rumors of financial insolvency are not exaggerated. There is a staggering $19,000 public pension liability per each city resident.

As a mayoral candidate in 2010-11, Rahm Emanuel gave regular people hope with his repeated assertion that he would “stop pay-to-play in City Hall” and “end the historical culture of corruption.” Emanuel was right. Public sector corruption was forestalling private sector production. Ending “pay to play” seemed like the only way back for the city.

In the months following his election, Emanuel seemed to execute on his promise by signing an executive order preventing city contractors from giving campaign cash to the mayor’s funds. It was a nice soundbite, but the measure was weakly designed. It lacked an enforcement mechanism and was riddled with loopholes.

Last week, our organization American Transparency – with the data at OpenTheBooks.com – fact checked Emanuel’s ethics policy for the John Stossel Special, Chicago Corruption: Is Pay-to-Play in Chicago Still Legal? Click here to watch segment

Here’s what we found: 600 city vendors gave Emanuel $7 million in campaign cash during the past four years and received $2 billion in city payments since 2002. And here’s how we found that data: We looked at a universe of 1,500 companies or their affiliated employees funding Rahm Emmanuel’s campaign since 2010. We then matched those company names with payments from the City of Chicago vendor checkbook. It’s a confluence of campaign cash and contractor payments or benefits.

Even United and American airlines, who have current city contracts, bundled campaign cash for the current election cycle. Ten American executives in two states and Washington D.C. all contributed the same $5,300 campaign donation on the same day in March 2014. Last fall, United executives bundled $73,000 from 42 executives on the same day in November 2014. View source documents here.

Even “new money” entrepreneurs are gaming the system. For example, Eric Lefkofsky is CEO of Groupon, President of Blue Media LLC, and co-founder of Lightbank. In the fall of 2010, when Groupon was valued at $6 billion, IL Governor Pat Quinn announced a $3.5 million package of job growth incentives. Two days later, Blue Media LLC gave a $100,000 campaign donation to Rahm Emanuel. Over the next few years, Lefkofsky became CEO of Groupon and took prestigious board appointments from Emanuel. Since 2014, Lefkofsky has given Mayor Emanuel’s fund another $250,000 for his 2015 re-election campaign. View all source documents here.

Overall, our findings led to two conclusions: pay-to-play is still legal in Chicago and Rahm Emanuel has complete control of the entire corrupt Daley political machine. In all the examples identified above, the individual transactions are probably completely legal at arm’s length, but the patterns are troubling.

But there’s a deeper problem. Our so-called leaders are funding a decadent and corrupt machine that exists to serve themselves rather than the city. The players are extracting extreme and undue profits as the city careens into financial insolvency. Residents face bleak futures while the players enjoy bright futures. The fact that Chicago is famous for this “machine” is disgraceful.

The hard truth is our elites – business and civic leaders – have sold the city out. While they strip the city of needed funds with their no-bid, non-competitive contracts for millions of dollars, they recycle a portion back into politics by funding the political machine that is designed to protect their own positions.

Let’s look at another example – the lawyers. Since Emanuel’s executive order on May 15, 2011 banning pay-to-play, Schiff Hardin LLP attorneys have given $31,850 in campaign cash to Emanuel and received $370,000 in city legal work. Over the past four years they’ve received $1.2 million. Jenner and Block attorneys have donated $37,200 since the executive order and have been paid more than $4 million for city legal work since 2010 with much of it coming recently.

How does this happen? The legal work is no-bid and circumvents a competitive procurement process. According to the city transparency website, these firms are paid for city legal work without a contract. They submit payment vouchers that are paid via a direct payment scheme. City of Chicago direct payments don’t disclose work product or purpose on their “transparency” website.

We also examined the investment firms handing the pension funds. Since Emanuel’s executive order, one of the world’s largest private investment firms Grosvenor Capital Management’s affiliated employees have given over $90,000 in campaign cash and $444,500 to Mayor Emanuel since 2010. Yet, the firm indirectly manages city teacher pension funds.

How? A middle-man firm has the pension investment contract and then delivers the pension funds to Grosvenor to manage a portion of the money. Hard questions remain as to whether or not Emanuel’s executive order or SEC rules have been violated.

Most of this is legal and shouldn’t be.

The elites of Chicago are lining their pockets with public money while regular homeowners struggle with ever increasing property taxes, kids attend broken schools, and emergency rooms are flooded with the causalities of a wounded community. Citizens are suffering but the elites of Chicago have never had a better return-on-investment.

We can blame Mayor Emanuel, but he’s just a reflection of today’s broken culture of public service.

The sad truth is that before the political culture there changes, it will have to break down to the point of actual bankruptcy. And even then, its disfunctionality might still be rescued by political allies in Washington.

This article touches on why many local politicians disingenuously don't want to end the War on Drugs. They have figured out how to politically benefit from the illegal drug trade, while paying lip service to "fighting" this "war".

Stupidity Tally as of Monday 6:00am:

    2016 weekend tally: 1 killed, 41 wounded
    2015 weekend tally: 3 killed, 13 wounded
    2014 weekend tally: 2 killed, 19 wounded

41 fucking people shot. Thank god, these CPD and CFD folks are trained to help until the amazing surgeons perform the surgery, and all the taxpayers cover their bills.

It looks like another 12-15 have been shot already today, with a girl getting shot in the head about 15 minutes ago. Bullet went through her house wall.
