A certain pockled individual south of the border has been making a big deal over $40 that he is owed by PokerFraudAlert.
I fully acknowledge that he won $40 in the PokerFraudAlert freeroll, and was eligible to play at the time he won it.
However, as explained on radio last night, there is a reason he has not been paid yet.
Since he won the $40, he has done the following:
- Immediately created a thread bragging that he won't re-donate the $40, and proceeded to insult me, the show, and the listeners.
- Insulted both me and the show in the official radio thread in that week.
- Insulted both me and the show in the thread about Brandon's "Into the Night with Drex" pilot episode.
- Spammed the chat room during Brandon's show, repeatedly demanding the $40.
- Cluttered other threads on PokerFraudAlert, repeatedly demanding the $40.
Now, if this were money owed because it was borrowed from him, or because of services rendered by his shitty web design company, I would pay immediately. Rudeness of the other party is no reason to slow-pay your debts or obligations.
However, the freeroll is different. It is free money provided by listeners of a free show, in order to show appreciation to both the show and its community of listeners. Nobody is ENTITLED to that money. It only exists because of the free show we provide weekly, the free poker room that Belly Buster runs at his own expense, and most importantly, the free money donated by fans of the show.
I find it to be incredibly disrespectful after winning the freeroll to post multiple messages basically saying, "You suck, your show sucks, your listeners are bitches, and fuck you. Now give me the free money it allowed me to win!"
So as long as he keeps coming at me with such a flippant, insulting, and entitled attitude about the money, I will not have the motivation to send it to him.
Keep in mind that we have had over 700 freeroll cashers during the show's run, and not once have I ever intentionally slow-paid anyone. (There have been times when I got busy or forgot to send the money, but those were not intentional, and always made right.)
But that's because every single winner before this has requested their money in a gracious and/or businesslike manner.
I'm not expecting gratitude or asskissing. A simple PM stating, "I won $40 in the freeroll, please send it to bajafailmedia@wordpressforbeginners.com on Paypal" would have been sufficient. That's what every other human being on this site does when they win the money, and for some reason you felt that winning freeroll money was a new excuse to troll.
I'm sorry, but that's not going to fly.
When you ask for the money like a grown-up, you can have it. Until then, you can keep waiting.
