    alex gordon gets his $$$

while the deal isn't as laughably funny as the multi yr 23mil heyward signed, 72 for 4yr quite a bit nonetheless.

he's on the wrong side of 30....he wasn't as good as trot nixon or jd drew,...isn't as good as choo or even an elder ethier for that matter those are just two off the top of my head. prolly would rather have nick markakis over him as well.

when i look at his numbers, he looks like he has more of a chance of ending up like mark kotsay/ d. erstad than heyward does.

his age might zap him of speed and hrs, as soon as this year...dude reminds me of a claudell washington type and can easily follow in the footsteps of the alex rios career path..2 more acceptable years then a complete shit...

i still remember people comparing him to george brett when he came up...lol

seems like every expensive multi year deal for a post 30 age player is shitty for the team that signs them.

but christ........gordon and heyward. does it get much worse for your roi?

don't know who henry is but but he's definitely gone overboad with new age stats. enough so that he had to red rep me because it was outlandish what i said..lol

nick markakis has always been a better hitter than gordon regardless of a few good years of WAR by him. and if markakis plays long enough he'll be a borderline HOF with close to 3k hits as well.....but . he'll prolly fall short and end up around 2500. with a 280/300 BA

btw...let me know when alex gordon becomes the next george brett...lol
