How Long Can You Float in a Pool Before Drowning

Time to bring back some premium content

Let's put the conditions at 70 degrees indoors. No sunlight and you would get sick drinking the pool water and you are in a pool with a depth of 10 feet.

How long do you think you could stay afloat before drowning?

24 hours or possibly more. Treading water, when done correctly, is almost effortless.
It's hilarious that we as a society think everyone can be a dr, a lawyer, an engineer. Some people are just fucking stupid. Why can't we just accept that?

Pretty much until you fall asleep. No sunlight with perfect temp, and the ability to drink the water is key. But it depends a lot on the motivation. If for example I just woke up in this pool with no edges today with no clue what was going on I'd probably drown in 12 hours. Or maybe even less. If I had supreme motivation I could go three or four days because the back float takes zero exertion. Of couse if this happened in real life without your interesting variables you would have to combat the cold, the sunlight, and inability to drink the water. In that case like 8 hours tops. Even with motivation.

Let's put Jsearles to the test. I bet he doesn't last 24 hours. And I hope I'm right.

Rereading it now and it says WOULD get sick drinking the water. No clue why he was listing variables to make it easier and threw one in there that makes it way way way tougher.

Did anyone else read that as wouldn't based on context?

Let's put some money together and I will wager dollar for dollar whatever PFA puts that I could do it. I'm unemployed for a few more weeks, let's make this happen

I'm down with this but keep in mind you are poor and you are a confirmed bet welcher. Escrow with Druff before and we will make this happen.

What would the camera situation be? I'm pondering the difference between wagering and how much I'd pay an idiot to float in a pool for a day.

    Bet is stupid and unrealistic.

    1. You have to find a pool to rent for 24 hours.

    2. You have to then have the pool owner agree to put cyanide tablets or whatever other poison to make the water poisonous to drink while at same time making it weak enough to not cause searles a life time of skin conditions.

    3. You have to hire a referee and pay him for 24 hours of work. I assume Lannister???

I guess I'm assuming the amount would be high enough for this to go down in Vegas with Druff overseeing

The poisonous water is a hurdle but honestly I'm not sure how it's germane to the core question

Oh I thought you needed the money now. I'm sure people from Druff's side of the tracks have access to private salt water pools. I'm bowing out of this thread. I'm already envisioning the line up of sick fucks watching you die. I hope you are secretly matt biondi.

Salt water pools are perfectly fine to drink out of. It isn't ocean salt that is added, its merely table salt and the amount of salt is so low that you'd barely even taste it if you wanted to.

Water temperature: 70 to 80 degrees.
Time until exhaustion or unconsciousness: 3 to 12 hours.

I assumed the 70 was the air temperature, not the water temp. 70 degree water would bring on hypothermia I'd imagine? I'm not a doctor though

Can Dan Druff float? My guess is no. But I also guess he has a memory from the past that this reminds him of.

depends on ones bone density and body fat percentage...

dense bones and low body fat make one less buoyant

    Druff>Marty>Micon in the float off
(long before there was a PFA i had my Grenade & Crossbones avatar at DD)
