Mike Dentale accused of cheating, threatens WSOP champ Joe McKeehen

This just broke out on Twitter within the last five mins as Joe McKeehan WSOP ME 2015 Winner is accusing Steinberg of cheating at Bellagio and somehow Mike Dentale is threatening to drown McKeehan in the fountain at Bellagio. Anybody know where the hell this all started?? Not sure if this started with angle shooting but it's gotten ugly quick.

He's accusing Dentale, not Steinberg. The whole thing started with friendly messages between Steinberg and McKeehen.

It's hard to tell from the tweets orginally since McKeehan tagged both of them in the tweets but I can see where that might be possible going back to Dentales comments about McKeehans wardrobe habits.

Mike Dentale looks like one of those aggressive meatheads who tries to intimidate people at the tables.

The Twitter exchanges seem to confirm that.

He thinks he's a bad ass and has been kicked out of several casinos on the east coast. I believe Parx is one of them.

Not a guy you really want to joke around with unless you know him well.

I've ran into my share of live players with the hard ass attitude with giant egos and I just remain as cordial as possible with these type of people. If you have a game with two of these people in it if they play together long enough the chances of some sort of screaming / fight type of situation to happen at a poker table is very strong.

Big Joe McKeehan World Champ must make Mike Dentales skin crawl lol

These two are polar opposites. McKeehan that free spirit type joker but laxed. Dentale really is that meathead and cares ALOT about what people think of him. It really means something to him to keep with his bad boy image although my understanding is that Dentale is also legit not someone you want to mess with. He reputation is being a meathead because that is 100% really who he is. He is that guy who if he doesn't like you, might wait outside hiding in the parking lot waiting to do harm to you. Big Joe knows this, but Dentale for all the shit he talks, is also real crazy and legit possibly mobbed up. So it is very prudent to stay out of this dudes way unless you got a lot of many ($) and security like Big Joe, the World Champ. If nothing more Dentale will bring the crazy and some meathead lols when his name is in the 'headlines'. Whether you agree and like him or not.

Man I miss the old games I'd play in with aggros teeing off on each other. Mix in like 2 fish and that is the perfect game. Seriously lol at being scared of this clown because of his size medium tee and pretend mob ties. He's probably one of those guys that's like 5'4 judging by his attitude.

lol at Dentale calling out McKeehen's wardrobe. dudes playing on a TV table at WSOP in a Muscle shirt. His wardrobe tweet was actually pretty funny though. He didn't get the action correct on the Iranian dudes betting action he called the floor on, but he's basically narrowing his range by limp calling with 22 UTG (a laughable -EV play), and complaining to floor trying to get the raise thrown out.

it was funny how JCarver explained the forward motion rule to Dentale.

I used to deal/run or play in $60 - $200 buyin tourneys in bars near New Orleans. You'd see the same players at these so most of the players knew each other. Many fit Dentale's attitude, which made it hard to retain some players, who simply felt intimidated by these guys. The conversations got pretty wild because people were usually drunk, and all knew each other.

one night two guys, (both electricians), one of whom owned an electrician company were making gay jokes to this Dentale look alike player, who happened to work for his company. He wasn't a jerk like Dentale, but not a guy you want to fuck with (he was bigger, and tougher than dentale). A guy nobody really liked because he was always starting shit, had to just shut the fuck up or apologize quickly, or he was definitely going to get his ass kicked. He thought it would be ok to join in on the jokes the other to were making.

Never felt in danger myself in these games, and played because it was profitable. No rake, and if you dealt, you got a discount, and if you ran the tourney, the winners tipped you. So it was basically a freeroll. Unless you just like to fight, just ignore these guys like Dentale, or make friendly conversation and your fine. They always find plenty of idiots at the table to pick fights with.

Beer and Poker's advice on playing with these types seems correct.

The idiot nobody like backed down like a pussy, so no fight. Now that guy was more than willing to get in people's faces he thought he could beat up, but backed down quickly when the Dentale look-a-like called him out. The Dentale guy cashed in the tourney, which I was running, and told me after the tourney he only took the stupid comments from his boss because he worked for him. But was not taking any shit from the guy he called out.

In one of the games I ran weekly for over a year ($120-200 PLO tourney depending on how many rebuy addons u did), I had to stop for awhile because three of my players went to jail. One was the owner of the electrical company in the story. He got his third DUI after a poker tourney I was at. He was shit faced, went to a strip club in the French Quarter, got more shit faced, got his 3rd DUI. Dude lost about 30 lbs in jail. Two of his friends who were small time drug dealers and electricians on the side, one who was also at the game I was telling about went back to prison for a drug charges.

These guys were total degens. They'd play poker 4-5 nights a week, almost didn't care if they busted sometimes, because they were going out to some bar, strip club, or casino after the tourneys.

Three of the guys I played with in these games were extras in the poker scene near the beginning of the Brad Pitt poker movie Killing Them Softly. The dude from my story that liked to talk shit and had to back down is the bald guy seated on the table at the right, he gets bumped a couple times as the guy with the gun walks between the tables.

    OK guys, story time.

One time I was grinding the 2/5 game at Bellagio, back in my Mid Atlantic days ( I was the best 1/2 2/5 grinder in the states of PA, Delaware and New Jersey for a 3 month span).

I was enjoying my game, stacking fish, and slapping the asses of the cocktail waitresses (two of whom have pleasured me orally). Some clown wearing a blue hat, black sunglasses, and an orange sleeves shirt sat down. You guessed it.. It was Mike Dentale.

I looked at him and said "Mike, go change... Hit the gym before showing up hearing wearing a vest, bruv"

He said "Look it pal, don't get wise."

I told him to take off the guise, the tough guise that is.

5 hands later I was dealt 72 off suit. Long story short, I 4 bet DENTALE pre flop and wound up flopping trip 2s. When we got it all in he turned over TWO RED ACES.

I said "You're good..." Then acted like I was going to throw my hand in the muck. THen I said "Oh wait I have 3 2s, sorry guy"

Then I took his money. He was very upset and said he was willing to bet $50k he had a net worth more than me.

I told him I was richer than Dan Druff and he got ever more tilted.

A poker player who had interaction with mike d posted his account and interaction and how it got him bared from foxwoods for life.
Cliffs: Agree to run it 2x mike d refuses to pay agreed upon amount . Mike d being bankrolled by Frankie Flowers(later banned for life from foxwoods for putting a player in a headlock). Player who got banned when mike d refused to pay had bad blood with Frankie Flowers. Below is the full link. Long read but pretty entertaining, Mike D comes into thread and hilarity ensues.

Wouldn't read too much into it. I played with both of them on Poker Night in America (they actually sat next to each other on the show). They know each other and this seems to be how they always talk to each other. I actually think the cheating accusation started on the show because of Dentale talking during hands - which pretty much everyone was doing - and it's just a super needle that Joe knows pisses Mike off.

Interestingly, this guy was on the show too http://pokerfraudalert.com/forum/sho...lection-Scheme
I write things about poker at my Poker Blog and elsewhere on the Internets

After Mike Dentale appeared on ESPN during that WSOP run he would wear that same (or a very similar) outfit to the Borgata. I wonder why. I honestly can't think of any reasons.
